To give you an idea of what is available at the moment up to 2000 feet and 1 ms latency, Paralinx Tomahawk started at $6995, now I see its $4300..
Will be very interesting to see what DJI come up with, and to see if it really is uncompressed (I cant imagine it will be) but who knows, times are changing.

For zero, or close to zero latency I dont think you can compress it. I could be wrong. Anyway this looks like an awesome product.

Easy? You call that easy?
That....is....awesome! It will revolutionize the industry! So many industries are looking for live HD feeds. This, combined with a new generation of battery technology, will give us incredible capabilities!

That's why it will be interesting to see exactly what they have done, there has to be some new implementation here to transfer HD at this distance, maybe using wimax or something.
Just hope it will be legal in most countries, not sure I would buy version 1 of this thing, especially with DJIs record of fixing things after release.
Transferring HD over a long distance is no mean feat.

The RC control and the HD video link are over the same 2.4gHz channel. You can control the copter and the camera with a second Tx all together.

This is all pre-release stuff. No point in asking real questions at the moment. DJI will release the specs when they are ready.

PS - What's the risk? Video on one channel set and RC control on another set. It seems safer than having two competing systems.

No point in asking questions? really? Ed might know the answer as he is DJI forum support.

The reason I am wondering about the 2.4 video and transmitter is because you would not use this set up in any other circumstance. Perhaps if they are using the same controller board it can make sure to prevent interference between the video RX and controller TX?

I was looking at this new product Lightbidge as an app on a phone this afternoon, seems very interesting, its early days but I'll keep you updated.

When when when and how much.
I'm using the 5.8ghz boscom rc805 system now and would like to upgrade to a better system asap.
any advice on better system be appreciated please.
Thanks
Jamie
