DJI has released new firmware v2.2 for A2 flight controller, please download the latest V1.3 assistant software to upgrade the latest firmware.

What is new?

Firmware:

  • Propulsion allocation optimization and flight stability enhancements.
  • New compass algorithm further reduces the impact of strong magnetic interference.
  • Fixed gimbal servo travel limit.

Assistant Software

  • New IMU calibration function.
  • “Upgrade All” button added.

User Manual

  • Instruction for IMU calibration.

Important: Upgrade GPS module firmware to the latest version for better GPS performance in harsh environment. Previous versions of DJI Assistant App were not compatible with the current A2 firmware. Upgrade to the latest version to ensure compatibility.

Please check here for more information.

I was wondering that too. I think they mean how the FC chooses to speed up or slow down the individual motors. DJI are full of this crap at the moment what with the E300 Tuned Propulsion System or Motor, ESC and Prop in human language.

I'm going to go and fill my heated beverage containment and delivery device with hydrated plant extracts.

So basically they tweaked it!!! It would be good to know how this effects it, so if it does stuff up in a strange way it can be explained.

Enjoy you hydrated plant extracts, I will have for a fermented plant extract

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
i just went ahead and did the update. it's probably worth mentioning that it dumped ALL settings and locked the FC so it couldn't be flown until everything was reset and I clicked the confirm button by the lockdown icon. maybe updates normally do this? i'm a new A2 owner/operator so it's almost all greek to me still.

if I have time this afternoon I'll redo the compass calibration and have a quick fly with it. i also mounted my zenmuse to it yesterday but that is drifting in Pan so maybe today it will all sort itself out. i need to have it working ASAP!

just tried the compass calibration post-update and it failed.

The advice you got was correct. When the LED changes color, point the nose down and continue your rotation.

Dunno if anyone told you but you are supposed to calibrate the compass in the middles of a public park - naked. Yes, wiv no clothes. This is to completely eradicate any possibility of introducing magnetic anomalies into the calibration procedure, thereby corrupting the process. I'm guessing you didn't do this.

In the unlikely event that you DID, recalibrate and recalibrate again until it works. It sometimes takes persistence to make the calibration stick.

Another small aside. Beware of using Anti-Spark devices with the Wookong and A2. Neither system likes the 'soft start' and will often fail to find the satellites. Or, .... if they do they do not give visual confirmation by stopping the red LED from flashing.

I now power up with a separate (full) battery and a separate battery cable with an extra inline connector pair on either the red or black cable. The MR is powered up with this separate LiPo and 'start-up' cable before connecting the 'real' ones. The extra connector pair takes all the heat from the snapping, crackling, popping power up, leaving the LiPo and MR connectors clean.

When the extra connector of the 'start-up cable' gets too burned up it is easier to replace than the MR and LiPo connectors.

EDIT: It is normal for the Zenmuse to wander about if the main FC has not been fully configured ... or ... if it is connected to the wrong CAN bus.

So why did DJI put on an anti spark device on the S1000?

Just an observation from personal experience. Sometimes it is OK with the Anti-Spark and sometimes not. So I use the other method and the small Anti-Spark cables have been shifted across to charging - just to keep all terminals clean.

Do u think this firmware will fix a Yaw drift issue from a Dji junk A2 imu? Probably mask the problem. Dji u are scum that don't honour warranted replacement of faulty Product's. 8months since I purchased A2FC 1st Jan 2014 its been a $1500 dust collector, plus all the extra crap to go with the A2 fc! Over $5000 of savings just wasted. Iosd mk2, zenmuse etc all Bnib. Im so exhausted from this bull****e. I think That's it refund or Ill launch it at there head.
