Believe it or not I've got a DJI Datalink and not used it at all. (3 Months) DOH! I messed around training on it but spent more time focusing on FPV which is now all done..

QUESTION:
Not having a full understanding yet, but is it possible just to use the Software/Datalink to follow the location of your craft rather than flying it?

I'm now going to start using the laptop in the field for FPV OSD recording, so was wondering if I could also have the software running to have a map following it around.. Cool with recorded vedio from camera, recorded OSD with video link and then fight path from screen capture..

OK I'm a geek!

You can try http://camstudio.org/ .. free video screen capture. I use it and works on my 64bit winbloes 7...:)

also have a USB video capture that takes the onboard video downlink and also saves a small video screen within that screen capture software. The DJI Groundstation is also no there for reference.. battery, gps.. attitude.. etc.

Not sure what you mean track the WKM.. that is what the Groundstation is for. you can fly it with your traditional TX, and just use the Datalink to display on the laptop next to you if you want.
