Denied registration as a SPAMMER??

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Don't take it personally! Unless you're actually a spammer of course, in which case I hope karma catches up to you one day.

We use an online anti-spam utility in order to screen new registrations and it works great 95% of the time. When it crashes though it spits out a bunch of people as spammers and then they contact me asking about how to get access to the site.

Use the "Contact Us" button but please INCLUDE THE USERNAME THAT YOU WANT TO USE SO I CAN JUST LOG YOU IN AND GET RIGHT BACK TO YOU. When I have to resolve ten of these at a time it becomes a big PITA to reach out to everyone with the same email, "What username were you trying to use?".

Many thanks, sorry for the delays to those of you that have been delayed, and welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!

Spamming a forum can really be bad. I am a forum owner and we have over 10,000 active registered members. Our server is a managed server in New Jersey. We have put blocks on certain countries do to the spamming. We block whole IP address blocks if need be as well. We have a tough registration form an process for new members. Each new registered member is viewed and checked by one or more of the forum administrators. We have at least 4 different applications that we use to check each registration with. We have a 99% success rate and it works great for us. We have an average of 11 new members a day and we get an average of 30 million views a month.

Folks,

Also please keep in mind that a lot of times new users are unable to complete the registration process because emails from MultiRotorFOrums.com are being returned by the new user's email account.

Tonight for example.......Rocco (aka Afcom) your email account is bouncing emails from the site which is why you haven't received the email verification yet. I tried to contact you but the email was bounced. Please put bart at multirotorforums dot c o m into your safe list and then try contacting me again.

ATT email addresses have caused problems in the past.

If anyone is still waiting to hear back from me I'm going to be very busy through Monday and then I promise I'll get caught up the first half of next week. Been running wheels-off and will be returning to normal next week (maybe).

Sorry for the delays and thanks for your patience.

The Stop Spammers plugin keeps track of a number of spammer emails and IP addresses in a cache to avoid pinging databases more often than necessary. The results are saved and displayed. You can control the length of the cache list and clear it at any time. The plugin caches IP addresses that do not fail, assuming that they may be valid users. In order to prevent re-checking these IP addresses, the plugin stores the last two IP addresses that passed all tests. Persistent spammers, who pass once, may be placed in the good cache allowing them access to comments for a short while. If this happens then the cache should be cleared to force a recheck on the spammer.

I read your site.It took me a lot of good.I think it will be a lot of benefit of people.
I have a small website. If you want please visit this web site at once.

Morris, your post is copied from documentation about an anti-spam plug in for wordpress sites. this isn't a wordpress site so your post is actually a form of spam meant to promote your link. sorry but this is about the third or fourth time i've seen you do this so i'm going to have to ban you as a spammer. ironic, isn't it?

Hello Bartman, been off the forum for a while because I wasn't allowed to log in to the forum from local IP addresses in Nigeria where I live, I am at my heli base on 6 week rotation now and my company (Bristow) routes all internet traffic though Britain or som'n like that, any remedies for us so we can access the forum back at home?

I'm sorry I didn't see this earlier. Did you get it worked out?

....no sir.... I had tried the contact us button before sending you the first message, for some reason it doesn't work when I click on it, ( unless there's another button apart from the one at the bottom right of the webpage). Username for sign in is U.F.O. When I sign in from the UK or US, I'm fine, but when I'm in Nigeria, I'm refused access, and unfortunately thats where my aerial biz operates.
