Hey guys,
So by trading and hustling and getting rid of a bunch of smaller quad stuff I have ended up with some gear to assemble a "test" rig.
This test rig is just a side project to tinker with as I am working on getting a pretty nice Pro AV-rig going to cover events for FG and RCG, but until it's ready I need to tinker.
SO.. I had traded some stuff for (6) IPower i2814Q 750kv 350w power

brushless motor's.
They look really nice! And then traded some more stuff for (6) iPeaka 30A ESC (400Hz capable atmel mcu)
My question is, it seems like a 40amp ESC is recommended for these motors, but looking at the specs,
to me it looks like a 30 amp esc could work just fine. The big thing for me is that I'm trying not to spend any additional money on this project so I can
save for/sort out the pro rig which is coming soon.
Any thoughts on this? The recommended prop sizes are 1380/1147 so I thought if I split the difference with a 12/38 prop it might go easier on the ESC's?
I'll be running 3 cell packs.
If by chance this is just a bad idea, I do have some 40amp Hobbywing ESC's that I could use, but from what I have heard, the iPeaka ESC's are a much better, higher quality unit.
Again, just looking for some incite, experience, or thoughts.
Thanks in advance,
SC
