Control problem at distance limit?

I set my "new" Disco Pro (w/Naza V2) to have a distance limit while I get the feel of flying it. On two occasions, I flew what must have been the limit and tried to bring her back using Home Lock. It wouldn't respond to stick commands so I used forced Failsafe (which I have configured on my T8J) on both occasions and it came back.

Is loss of command an issue once you get to your distance limit?

Not normally, unless you have auto-land enabled (is there auto-land on a NAZA?). Might affect home lock but not sure as I've never used it. It should just stop at the distance (there's a ten meter buffer zone).

Does it determined by the transmission power of your RX and TX?
