CAA Information Notice Number: IN–2015/008

The long awaited notice by myself, and others, with previous (Military or civilian) experience has now been published, although the details on where, when and how to prove competency is sketchy to say the least. I have emailed my CV and certificates over to the supplied email address on the notice and they have forwarded it on to another address. I've not heard anything back yet and was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? Annex 3 of the notice specifies the criteria.

Small Unmanned Aircraft – Acceptable Forms of Evidence for the Grant of a CAA Permission.

It's not a speedy process unfortunately and they seem busier than ever at the mo.

I could be wrong but don't you still need to submit a ops manual and complete a flight test on your machines to gain a PFAW regardless of your qualifications.?

well this is the thing. In order to complete an Ops manual and a flight test I first need the nod from the CAA that I am exempt from the theory course and exam.
