CAA Information Notice - Future requirement for a safety case assessment

At present, how do people go about getting the permission to fly a >7kg craft in a congested area. I realise things will change after October 31st, but what is the process at present?

Email Lawrence Hay at the CAA with a plan and a rough safety case. Avoid asking questions and use maps, Scribble Maps are great. Don't expect a quick response so plan early, he's a very busy man by the sounds of it!

Thanks Ben, yeah he's busy for sure. I have been trying to contact him since last wednesday and eventually I've just managed to speak to him. Safety case has now been submitted with map and mitigation so I'll just sit and wait now!
