Interesting. 3.5kg though, that's not a lot. Nor is 1000 feet. I can fly LOS at 1000 feet.

I doubt many of us can fly a 3.5kg machine LOS at 1000 feet. In terms of depth perception 1000 feet is a long way away for judging distances to a subject etc

I've flown a 1.2kg machine at 300m, LOS. A Trex 450 heli.
