BEC's

This may seem like a very basic question, but my knowledge at the moment is basic!! : )

Are the only options for powering the LED's ,camera mount gimble, rx and the controller via seperate BEC's or ESC BEC's?

I have also read that seperate BEC's can reduce the heating up of the ESC's. Any points of view?

What is the normal setup?

Cheers

Make sure you have your camera stabilization all figured out. From what I have heard, you can not use the WKM camera stabilization when in an OCto config. Just what I heard, I could be wrong.

You are correct. The outputs for rotors 7 & 8 are where the gimbal would normally plug in. We have an AD6 and use the speed controllers as becs but have the gimbal on its own bec as its on the 360 frame so needs to be completely separate from the top half of the heli. Ours is flying fine with that setup and no excess heats even after fast climb outs.

I may be wrong, if I am please someone correct me. I thought an octo with gimble was possible with the WKM because of the S BUS????

The S bus just connects to the GPS/compass, the IMU and the strobe. The outputs to the speed controllers and the gimbal are all on the main DJI unit so as far as I know its not possible. In the manuals it also mentions about the F1 and F2 ports and says "only for 4 or 6 rotor"

ETA I Stand corrected just seen this from the manual: If you want to use gimbal with an Octo-rotor, you have to use S-Bus receiver, then you can use port T and R for gimbal control. Otherwise, there will be no ports on MC for gimbal.
