Battery Size

Not sure if you got an answer already - but it really will come down to calculating how much additional weight you can carry, and how that will effect your flight times.

The racing quads typically opt for burst speed for shorter distance, so take the weight savings of the smaller/lighter battery.

That said, the 1500mah might be good for practicing if your rig can handle the addition grams.

If your just starting out you may want to go a little heavy (thus slower) while you learn. As long as the bigger batt doesn't effect handling. I know the serious racers that use 1300mah because it's lighter and still gives them the duration that they want. But these guys are serious and they can really fly those minis.

I always like to fly bigger batteries. You probably won't see much of a difference between the two because of weight to watt hour ratios.
