Battery Chargers

It seems that there is an endless supply of different battery chargers out there. Can anyone recommend a brand that is good? Is balancing important? I was looking at some of Hobby King's chargers, should they be considered? My motors call for a 6S battery so I am assuming that I look for a charger that can handle that and more, I would like to run two 6S 5000mah or bigger packs for flying. Also I have heard of 6S 9000mah batteries but I have not been able to find any, any help here would also be appreciated. Thanks people.

Foxtech has 9 Ah 6 cell packs. And, yes, balancing is a must. Very few, if any, chargers will address *over* 6 cells. To date my Turnigy "4X6" has worked out well, time will tell.

Best charger out there at the moment in my opinion is the iCharger 4010 duo. It can charge 4x 6s 9Ah batteries at 2C in one go so is perfect for keeping you in the sky all day long. You will need a good power supply of which the HP ESP 120 server power supply is perfect.

Speaking of power supplies, will I need one of those to go along with a charger? I thought that they worked off of twelve volts such as a car battery?

You will kill your car battery pretty quickly if used especially if charging 9ah batteries. Either get a good power supply or use deep cycle batteries.

Ive sent you a PM- there is quite a lot to learn about batteries and chargers so give me a buzz and we can have a good chat to steer you in the right direction

Go with the Revolectrix Powerlab gear...it will be the last charger you will buy, google fu it and check the vids on youtube to see what it offers above everyone else.....I had turnigys...4 of them...all replaced by the powerlab 6

Okay, thanks for the help. Carapau I will make use of that. Okay so here is another question, I would like to use a 22.2V 390KV motor, with the math and using six of them I should be able to get away with two 5000mah 6S 65C-130C and using 40amp SimonK flashed esc's. Does that sound correct?? The esc's that I found are for 6C use.
