Thanks for reading and sorry if this question is already out there, I haven't found it.

I'm building a hex powered by the APM 2.6 and I'm running 6 40A ESC http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009NP4RDY

I have read here http://copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/common-measuring-battery-voltage-and-current-consumption-with-apm/ that with a esc with no BEC that I do not need to remove the Jumper JP1 to use the power module. Is there any situation where I would need the UBEC attached to the flight controller? Also, as I understand it I just plug the servo plugs from the ESCs into the APM as they are with no wire clipping or UBEC connection to the ESC. Correct?

Thanks in advance!

The APM power module will supply only 500mA so it is sufficient to power the basics.
If you have any servos on the out put, say for a gimbal, or tail servo on a Tri, then you need to separately power the output with a uBEC.
The ESC's you indicate are opto, so no BEC in the ESC, and yes, you just plug then straight into your outputs.

Thanks Mike!
I have a UBEC and expect I'll need it down the line, but for now I'll just get it hooked up and motors spinning. I appreciate the help!
