Anyone tried the Crius AIO Pro board

I've had a Crius All In One board laying about for a few months and it looks to be a great spec. for not much money if you compare it to say the APM-2.5

As I have a Turngy Talon under evaluation it seems like a good time to run it up the pole and give it a wave. We all know that it works very well with the NG and multiwii code but anyone tried it with the latest APM 2.8.1 code. No problem to reflash it with the APM Mission Planner, but has anyone tried that yet?:tennis:

Anyone know if MegaPirateNG 2.8 is the same as APM 2.8 ?

The Megapirate code is a port of the APM code for non APM multiwii boards, functionally the same but not interchangeable. You can' t run APM code on the Crius and the Megapirate code won't run on APM due to hardware differences. I have the RCTimer version of APM 2.5, less expensive than the "real" APM 2.5, it runs the APM code and seems a lot more solid than any of the Multiwii Mega boards I have. The Megapirate code is less "buggy" on some boards than on others and is usually lagging behind the APM by a release version.

I used to run a Tricopter on APM2 2.6 firmware with good success. Was thinking of getting a Talon and fitting an APM2.5 with the latest firmware. It would be good to know your opinion on the Talon?

Talon flies great on a Afroflight 32 from TimeCop. Needs a little attention on the rear bearing to take out the slop. But it's a well thought out and well made cheapo for having lots of fun.

Just like to see what the Crius can do.

I'm flying a Talon Tri using the KK2.0 with autoleveling, I have to say for the price it's hard to beat the new KK for a basic flight controller and it does fly really well on the 1.4 and 1.5 firmware. One thing to do for the tail motor pivot is get a blade grip thrust bearing for a Trex 450 and put it between the head of the bolt and the alloy so it can pivot smoothly then you can snug that bolt down pretty good to help with the slop and it won't bind.

Thanks Ken, I tried the KK2 with my old Tri but there was too many vibes going on with the cheapo motors I had on it, which the KK2 really didn`t like. The original KK board is what I have on it now as that is less susceptible to vibes.. And more fun I stuck the KK2 on an arducopter frame but it just never felt right to fly?
