Hi I'm jim from Derby,

I am about to embark on my first quadcopter build, I come from hibby background of tamiya grass hoppers and have also dabbled in helis but as I have cerebal palsy I feel quads are easier to fly due to stability.

I'm going to building my quad myself with off the shelf parts however I do have a habit of pimping my rides ;) So my build will depend on funds as always, going to probably go for a flamewheel 450 with scorpion motors, gps etc and ultimately fpv.

Cheers mo fo's

Jim

Hi Jim, just read back through your original posting & noticed you have CP. how mobile are you as such? not being nosey, but trying to make sure you get the right machine for you. A quad is great fun, I bought a cheapie off of hobbyking (wooden one) with a cheap flight controller, motors & ESC's...total cost about £150 & she flies wicked, great for FPV ;)
Check out my video of her with the gopro on top:-

Hiya Ross sorfy for delay in getting back to you, my cp only affects my left hand side, I can fly a hubsan x4 ok just need to fine tune my cordinagion for the left stick control, looking potentially at mabeca self build dji 450 or a dji phantom.

Jim,

There are transmitters on the market that have the rudder as a twist function on the right hand stick, of course throttle is still on the left. don't know if that might be easier for you?

Welcome and dont waste your money on Scorpion motors, go with Turnigy NTMs from Hobbyking...they're like $12 each or something. Keep us posted...
