Advice on "old" WKM and M800

I have an original WKM before DJI started shipping them with the PMU. I just picked up the RCTimer M800 (S800 clone) and have read about an issue with the "old" WKM cutting power to certain motors. I want to know if I should reach out to Rober from UAV Products to have DJI replace the unit since its a defect in the design of the device.
