Advice from 1000mm Hex owners who use WKM

Realize no 2 MR are the same but trying to collect some data. I scratch built a 1000mm Hex and did the first run up to near hover. Ran for 5min to check for heat, etc. All seems good. Pushed it to get light on it's feet and had a tendency to roll. Admit I have some cleaning up to do here and there but thought to use the time to ask others what kinds of parameters values they are using in WKM. For this test I was using defaults. Just never set up a machine of this size so thought maybe your values might shed some light. Appreciate it.

Hi Eggbeater, by getting "light on it's feet" I assume you mean keeping just around the point of lift off, if so I found never to do this with a multi as you would with a heli, you should just get it up clear of the ground as quick as you can to allow the flight controller to work without having to compensate for skids dragging on the ground etc.

I would start with 180 180 130 150 80 80

As midnight999 said, you should take off quickly.

best regards

That's Ferdinand. That's what I needed. Largest other one I had that flies great is 800 size so more info I can collect the better.

The defaults will be fine. On a WKM controller the difference between a gain over even quite a large range, say 100 to 200 is about flight characteristics not about whether it can fly or not.
