450 on a budget?

I have an mQX and I "fly" (I use that term loosely) an mCPX. Now, I want a Flame Wheel.

I need to figure out the best way to do it on a budget though. I am thinking about buying it piece by pice and assembling it slowly to at least feel like I am doing something with it besides stuffing money into an envelope.

Can it be built piece by piece over time? What I was thinking about was:

1. buy and assemble the frame
2. buy an install motors
3. buy and install wiring
4. buy and install Naza
5. but and install Spectrum receiver for DX6i

These are simply thoughts in my head and very well may not make sense. Hence why I am seeking guidence here before jumping in.

Any and all tips or ideas are welcome and appreciaed!

check out the jdrones stuff, or hobbyking.
Naza is good VFM and more or less plug & play.
The power distrubution is integral to the lower base plate of the DJI frames so no wiring harness req'd. just solder your ESC's on and your main batt wires. Turnigy plush ESC's are good and cheap also.
for batteries I can recommend Gens Ace 2600mAh, pretty cheap and good quality.
If you want to save a good deal of money check out the turnigy 9X Tx / Rx, much cheaper than the Spektrum. You may well want a lot more Tx than the DX6i further down the line.

Is there any technical reason I may not be aware of that would prevent me from doing it this way?

Can I full assemble the frame, I mean permanently with locktite on everything before getting ESCs and motors, etc....?

You could, it'll take less than a half an hour but you'll have to take it apart to get your electronics soldered. Keep saving until you can buy a rtf kit or keep your eyes peeled in classifieds for parts as they come up.

Well you have to solder the ESC wires to the inside of the lower base plate and you may want to mount something inside ie Rx or FC. so not worth loctite'ing the frame together.
