4 scales for accurate balancing of a Quad

I was wondering if anyone had any information as to if a quad could be accurately balanced about the COG using 4 digital scales, one being on the end of each of the four arms.

Would the scales all measure different weights if, say a battery was placed off-center or would they all measure the average weight equally?

Just a thought for possibly getting accurate COG right when adding new bits to my quadcopter.

In theory the scales should note any imbalance. It works when establishing the weights on an airplane's landing gear.

It works for a Y configuration as it has 3 points, but not for a quad because the weight cannot be measured accurately due to there being 4 points of contact. The planes of both the scales and the 4 points on the quadcopter would necessarily need to be "perfect".

That said, scales are exactly what I use on Y6's

You could try 2 scales under opposite corners. Move things around until it balances on 2 feet, and you should be dang close to perfect. Heck, don't bother with scales. Balance one diagonal first, then balance the other diagonal and you'll be good.
