Yes, you can get away without the GPS, but you better be flawless with your control. I would suggest waiting (and keep working) till you can afford the GPS. Be patient, and good luck.

Iris-So was this guy flying a TBS Discovery? Quite a stretch by you. Just check YouTube for a variety of multirotors being flown "inappropriately according to your standards". Probably a few of the brand you fly! OH NO that couldn't be!

Juz, l saw your FPV video flying around and thru your house about 9 months ago. I have been researching quads and FPV ever since. Finally pulled the trigger on the TBS discovery and FPV equipment about a week ago. I have been in r/c since 1970, have done cars, boats, Helis, planes, and etc...
