Hoverfly installing Hoverfly client and gimbal without Internet

Hi folks, Hope someone sees this since this forum has been dead for some time. I am trying to install the latest versions of the Hoverfly Gimbal, Setup Client, and firmware upgrade. However, I no longer have an Internet connection on the old PC that want to use for this purpose. The...

Hoverfly New Hoverfly Forum is now open!!

I use Spektrum telemetry hardware to monitor voltage. It works great - my receiver vibrates and I get a warning sound when the voltage goes below a set level.

Hoverfly Hoverfly X-8s continue to be the work horse

Our Hoverfly board has worked great (flat octo) - no GPS. As stated above this is our bread and butter go to ship.

    Hoverfly New to Hoverfly

Yes, It can be very discouraging. I have been through this myself where everything I did seemed to fail - rebuilt the ship numerous times... same problem (different from yours). However, the problem is there it just needs to be figured out. You have eliminated a huge factor, the ESCs. I...

    CMROA Guidelines

I agree with flitelab on the batteries. My question would be, do we need additional restrictions given that Transport Canada has so many requirements already? I do think we need to be as safe as possible but sometimes with all the restrictions and guidelines we find it difficult to do business...

    Droidworx Skyjib Wookong-M rotation problem

We had a more a similar but much more dramatic result and the problem went away when we replaced all our ESCs.

    Hoverfly New to Hoverfly

I read it differently, he indicated he was holding the ship and trying to establish if he could sense the control of the sticks by feel from the movement. I don't recall any mention of him using the setup assistant.

    Hoverfly New to Hoverfly

I would recommend checking your connections to make sure that yaw is setup properly in the radio and the receiver and it is connected properly to the correct input on the Hoverfly Pro board. You should be able to test this in the Assistant Software - power up the ship while the usb is connected...

How do you know you don't have yaw control? Have you had it up in the air?

    Hoverfly New to Hoverfly

If you are talking about beeping coming from the Hoverfly board, that is normal and actually a safety feature that indicates your board is armed, it doesn't go away till you give it more throttle. I am using Afro 30A (HobbyKing) with my setup and those are working smoothly so far.

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

I have now tested both the 30 A Afro ESCs and iPeak 40A. The smaller ocoto HFP setup with the Afro ESC flew smooth. My Droidworx WK-M flew perfectly smooth with the iPeak 40A ESCs. I have never had it fly this smooth but then again that may not be the ESCs per se but having the electronics...

    Castle Creations QuadPack

The temperature got over 0C and the wind dropped for an evening, so I took my smaller ocoto out for test flight and it flew smooth with the Afro 30A ESCs and HFP. I think those will work well but time will tell the real story. This setup has been a very reliable ship for us. I am still...

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

You might be able to reflash to the latest version of SimonK. I am no expert on that though.

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

hmmm... haven't come up against that one yet. Perhaps once it is flashed it is done. I seem to remember something about that - once it is flashed there is no going back. However if that is the case then it would seem your ESCs have been flashed - right?

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

It sounds like your ESCs are programmed wrong. Do you have a manual for your ESC - I would recommend reprogramming the failsafe on the ESCs. Here is a link to the manual. I use a programming card but you can just use the throttle stick to program it as well...

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

With traditional ESCs you should program those to NiCad batteries rather than Lipo because that will allow the multicopter to drain the battery (possibly damaging the battery) but might stop the ship from falling out of the sky. I would assume the SimonK programmed ESCs would already be set for...

    SimonK Flashed ESC Programming?

I assumed that SimonK was programmed for NiCad batteries rather than Lipo so you wouldn't see this problem. Are you sure that this caused the problem? What ESCs did you use? The other question is do you have a Voltage monitoring device onboard to warn you? I use Spektrum telemetry so low...
