    XAircraft Black Box site down???

There must be a shared file/url they both require which is broken or unavailable. Still down today.

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Thanks for that. I'm glad to know this and that I should have some extra juice at 13 minutes just in case there's an issue landing etc.

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Yup the last flight was 13 minutes will a full payload. Wasn't flying it hard, but probably similar to the style of flying I would do for a basic video flyover gig.

    XAircraft Black Box site down???

8/29/14 10:12 p.m. MST can't get the black box site to load. Maybe that means I should just call it a night.

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

I was happy with 10 minutes, but thought I should be getting a few more minutes with my setup. Running the load value down to the low 3.6's versus 3.7's did buy me 3 minutes (30% more time), and it is nicely at the 80/20 rule.

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Well how interesting is this? I charged both Pulse 5000mAh 35C's on my paraboard. Total mAh put back in between the two batteries after running them down to 3.6 with load, 3.68 without load, was 7962mAh. That's 3981mAh per 5000mAh battery. Only 19mAh from being exactly 80%. Comments?

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

I did a very easy and low power flight tonight. Ran them down to 3.60. The difference between 3.7 and 3.6 equals about three minutes of flight time apparently. Once the load was off they went back up to 3.68. So naturally I'm a tad worried they didn't go back up to 3.7 off-load. They're...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

I've read every post in this thread. Amazing how different the battery "experts" can be on this subject. So tell me if I'm being too conservative. I'm running two 5000mAh 6S Pulses on my hexa. As soon as my Taranis telemetry tells me 3.7 volts, I land. When I've taken the load off the...

    XAircraft WTF just happened?

That flight was a learning experience to say the least. I should NOT have been that high, though had I been half as high my bird would have been destroyed since I would not have had time to recover the flight. I've never flown that high. It was an evening flight and with the LED's I put on...

    XAircraft WTF just happened?

I suppose it would be a good plan to add some audio to my Taranis for mode switch as well. That way I can hear her voice say "Manual Mode" if it does get switched...

    XAircraft WTF just happened?

I don't plan any time soon to fly in manual mode at all. I wonder about perhaps programming the GPS/ATT/Manual switch to only be GPS/ATT? That way I could never accidentally hit manual, like I apparently did.

    XAircraft WTF just happened?

Yes I held the altitude in GPS and/or ATT mode, and was rotating the bird taking night photos of the city. It was dark and I was flipping the switch on my TX to either shoot photos or shoot video. I suppose it is possible that I bumped the switch into manual mode, but I would have had to bump...

    XAircraft WTF just happened?

I can barely breath. I did an evening flight with my T960, just like I do every evening. This time though I was quite high. I was flying in ATT mode when all the lights on the bird went dark and I could see it free falling. The first thing I could think of was to jam it into GPS mode. When...

You are a pessimist for sure, which isn't necessarily bad. Did notice that landing was squirly after that, but there was wind too. My GPS is not that high. It is only a little bit higher than the top of the batteries.

    XAircraft SuperX on heavy lifter

Going to do some battery shopping soon. How big do you think I can go on my T960? I'm running two 5000mAh 6S 35C pulses with no problems. They are great batteries as far as I can tell. I can go with them, or perhaps go up to some 5800, 6000 or even 8000. Not sure how heavy is too heavy...

    XAircraft SuperX

From what I've found out via google and the poorly translated chinese in the manual is there's some magnetic interference messing with the GPS/compass. I may try to land in the same spot tonight and see if it happens again.
