We are looking for members opinions

I've shared this opinion before, but I think the "why" a forum exists is way more important than the "how." I do think I know what it will take to make this forum more relevant. But it's going to take resources and redefining the customer. Not sure if the management of this site would be...

We are looking for members opinions

Not sure if this is a continuation from the earlier debate? I don't think the layout, colors or even how it's organized has much effect on attendance. When Bart started this forum he was active on a lot of other forums and recognized that there was considerable frustration amongst a...

    DJI MAVIC PRO Give-A-Way

I'd fly it here: MAUI Here: LAS VEGAS Here: COSTA RICA Here: KENYA Alaska, back to Costa Rica and Hawaii, Galapagos, Sweden, and New Zealand. Have drones, will travel.

    High Speed Filming

Also, one thins that I don't think has been pointed out is that the guys who did those shots are good, really good. I doubt very many people could get those shots with either platform. There's still a need for an "all-the-above strategy" for aerial filming. It depends on what your shooting...

CHASED BY HIS OWN DRONE - Unbelievable FAIL Of A Drone Review

I wish I knew what he was saying. A German with a great sense of humor. That was really well done.

    Good starter drone for video?

3DR is pretty much out of business, so I wouldn't suggest getting started with any of their products. Do you want to do their professionally or just as a hobby?

    Motor Questions

It's all a trade off right? Just depends on how much of the AUW is battery. I'm using 435KV KDE motors. We did test a Hex with U7's and it was pretty much as you describe.

    Motor Questions

I don't think he'll win races with 935KV motors. 28" props are ceiling fans. 18" props are just what it takes to lift 36 pounds AUW for 30+ minutes...

    Motor Questions

When moving up the food chain with payload and expense, you generally move down in KV and up in prop size, 15", 18" or bigger and most of those props attach directly to the bell housing or a quick release which is CW/CCW.

For Sale As New Inspire 1 RAW with 4 x TB48 Lipos

DJI isn't the largest operator, they are the largest consumer drone manufacturer. It all depends on how you use it. This is a difference between professionals and consumers: If the old technology is reliable and newer technology is released there is still a lot of value left in the older...

For Sale As New Inspire 1 RAW with 4 x TB48 Lipos

It's always a great idea to be the first person to own the latest DJI. You know, because they always work so well when they first release them.

    Motor Questions

The Steppyness is called cogging, it's normal, they are smooth when energized. In the old days, about four years ago, it was rare that you would have counter rotating shafts so there were a lot of crashes caused by props flying off in flight. Just make sure the retaining nut is tight before...

Want to get into quadcopters but dont know where to start

What do you want to use the drone for? If its just to fly FPV then you might be able to get a small racer with the necessary accessories for $600. Keep in mind that up to a mile range for 5.8 video might be a challenge in that price range. If your wanting to add the aerial photography...

Pixhawk able to do what the Solo does?

I believe that only works with the SOLO, not a PixHawk.

Pixhawk able to do what the Solo does?

If your not using a GoPro then you can't use a SOLO anyway. Have you used or looked into Mission Planner? There are smartphone apps like Tower but I haven't used that in over a year. The Pixhawk is plenty capable of doing what you want but its going to take a little figuring it out on your...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

That's truly amazing. How long do people have to build all of this, how long does it stay and what does the place look like the week after? Just curious because that looks like a tremendous amount of work. I forgot, what is the music?

Pixhawk able to do what the Solo does?

No. I can make a Pixhawk do most of the things the SOLO can do but it takes much longer, you have to be a wizard with Mission Planner and it still won't do it as well. So if your going to fly a GoPro you can't beat the SOLO. BUT, if you want to fly anything bigger than a GoPro then the SOLO...

Since some of you are showing chasing boats, we did a little of that for a Homeland Security drill called Coastal Trident. We were involved in two scenarios, the first was a guy with a bomb onboard a boat heading into LA Harbor and the second was scanning a large ship for radiological material...
