Really, in the USA full size aircraft don't fly below 1500ft agl? What about air ambulances and Police helicopters? In the UK they can go as low as 500ft in normal flight.

Hi mate, 15,000 is about right to be honest. The Hugin X1 does much of what you have asked for (except the speaker bit!). You can build a small quadcopter from commercially available parts quite cheaply ($1000?) but the infrared will cost a bit more. 45 minutes is also quite a long flight time...

Yeah those regulations looked a bit too restrictive, at least the first part. The rest seems reasonable. I'm a sub 7kg flyer and have filmed for most of the major TV networks and even a low budget movie. You can do a lot with a light aircraft! Over 7kg in the UK simply means a little more...

Why's it useless? I find it handy sometimes to check the area you're flying over or if edging backwards to an obstacle (like a tree) to see how far away you really are.

Hi Bart, Almost there. Our aircraft are not deemed airworthy or their flight worthiness is not tested per se. If it flies during the flight test then that is about the only check that takes place. Airworthiness certificates will come into force for over 7kg aircraft by the end of this year...

In a few weeks yes. I am under 7kg and have been flying continuously in London for the past month...and I'm sick of it!!! I moved to the Cotswolds to enjoy some country flying. I've still got quite a bit more to get out of the way in the city then hopefully back to wide open spaces. :nevreness:

You must have reset a setting on the Gopro when you updated it. I'd recheck the settings and play around with them a bit. Good luck mate! We've all had this problem at one point or another. :nevreness:

Just an FYI. NATS have had their meeting with the CAA yesterday and things will be back to normal for over 7kg flights in congested areas within a couple of weeks.
