HDMI is different when you start recording. Have you tried recording with HDMI out set to 720p? Have you tried PAL? Have you tried a different monitor setting (PAL/NTSC)? Sorry, lots more questions. :)

Hmm, I replied to your message but thought I'd pop it here too. I had my HDMI out set to 720p and PAL. Always start the camera after powering on the gimbal/aircraft (looks like you did that anyway). My money is on an HDMI out setting on the camera.

Sounds like you've done your homework to me. I've nothing to add except Resource were/are great to deal with and have quick turnaround times. Took me 6 weeks from groundschool to PFAW.

Hmmm, then I'm not sure what to do. Your gains look pretty high possibly since it's an X8. As you've modded it quite a bit it's hard to say what the problem is. How are the motors linked up to the NAZA? Two ESCs on each channel?

Hi John, By X8 you mean 8 motors/props? I assume so. I imagine you would want very low gains to start with. Flipping is usually a motor or prop turning the wrong way. Why did you decide to go X8 out of interest?

That sounds bloody annoying. Have you opened up the Zen to check the HDMI lead isn't loose or anything?

...and your Phantom should be plugged into the USB and powered up as you install the driver.

Mine doesn't. I start the camera after the Zen fully initialises if that makes a difference.

I am honestly as frustrated as you guys that you're having problems with the Zen. I can't believe I am just lucky, it must be something simple that you're over looking. I plugged everything in and every mode works. The only thing I hate is the bloody low res stills! I am getting the GH4 out now...
