    Safe wind and descent speed?

Hi. I'm happy to get my first build ready. Upon flying i got some question: 1. What is the maximum safe descent speed which doesn't cause troubles due to getting into the own turbulence? I mean, high in the air, not during landing. When I descent with 2m/s (by iOSD mini) vertical speed, it is...

Power cable ground - copter ?

Did a bit of calculations. 1 m of 10 AWG silicon wire weights 75g and has resistance 3mOhm. At 50 amps it will give voltage drop 0.15 V per m. Considering the fact that power cable consists of two wires, 5m cable will weight 750 g (less than a half of battery weight) and provide voltage drop 1.5...

Power cable ground - copter ?

Let's say 30-60 min with 50-60 amps. What wire size would be suitable?

Power cable ground - copter ?

Rather stupid idea from newbie. Would be interesting to hear comments. Question. Is it practically posible to supply power to the copter via cable? Why? Sometimes i'm playing with time-lapse photography (google it or check vimeo channel in my profile). In order to get the final movie more...

    Problems with Arris Zhaoyun gimbal

And nice dialogue with the seller via email  Hobby-Wing "When you deliver the gimbal, please declare the value under $60, and declare it as “Defective Gimbal” Me "I will declare a real price of the goods in my customs declaration. I've paid 200+ USD taxes to the State of Finland...

    Problems with Arris Zhaoyun gimbal

No solution was suggested by seller to cure the iOSD problem. Sending the gimbal back to seller and asking for refund. And the picture how Sony Nex 6 (doesn't) fit to the frame

    Problems with Arris Zhaoyun gimbal

Contacted the seller, received only some blah-blah-blah in responce: "The gimbal and the OSD could work separately, this is not the problem of them. Maybe the settings?" I've sent them video. In the beginning gimbal is not powered, telemetry is visible. After gimbal powering and initializing...

    Problems with Arris Zhaoyun gimbal

Received Arris Zhaoyun pro 3-axis gimbal from Hobby Wing last friday. Attached it to MR, balanced it with my Sony Nex 6. Powered it by 12V output from the power distribution board. There are two problems: 1. I'm going to use Walkera Devo F4 + Rx601 as a cameraman's Tx/Rx (not the best choice...

    Tarot T810 build log

Thanks. Balanced it, despite it was not straightforward. Sony Nex 6 has a rotating knob (for changing of shooting modes). This knob makes vertical dimension of the camera bigger compared to Nex 5 and 7. Therefore proper positioning of the camera is almost impossible. I had to add additional...

    Tarot T810 build log

hm.. connected the gimbal (Arris Zhaoyun 3-axis Pro). It behaves in a strange way. When I pan or tilt, it it moves sometimes with jerky movements, sometimes not. Moreover, sometimes it drifts itself around pan axis (when transmitter is on). When I roll the MR body, it stays leveled without...

Yep, received rails, battery holder and gimbal, going to assemble all together. Question: How to get copter balanced in terms of positioning of gimbal and batteries on the rails underneath the body? Should I just use momentum rule m1*l1=m2*l2, where m1 and m2 are weight of gimbal+camera and...

    FPV+AV and props adaptersadapters

Ebay sellers who have these adapters in Europe are quite limited. There is one in UK, with almost 30 dollars per pair. Otherwise I have options either order it from China and pay a lot of taxes (just paid over 200 dollars VAT for Arris gimbal which original cost was 700) or wait for a long time...

    FPV+AV and props adaptersadapters

I don't quite understand how many adapters are in this lot http://www.dronesvision.net/en/aircraft-propellers/1842-7075-aluminium-alloy-quick-detach-self-locking-prop-adaptors-for-carbon-fiber-props-cw-ccw-x-4pcs.html Does "4 pcs" mean that there are 4 adapters for 4 motors (and 4 props)? Or do...

Yes, I've already seem your post http://multirotorforums.com/threads/my-experience-with-screw-type-quick-release-prop-adaptors.20323/page-2 Unfortunately, I can't find dimensions of adapters you mentioned

    FPV+AV and props adaptersadapters

Hi Two more questions from the beginner. 1. I'm using T-motors and 15x5 CF t-motors props. Currently, I'm fixing props with the adapters supplied with props (round metal washer with 3 holes in a row). This is not very convenient for disassembling before transportation. Therefore, I got CW and...

Jhardway, thanks. Idea to cut off extra length from legs sounds very reasonable. I've ordered Arris Zhaoyun 3d gimbal. When it arrives, I can make adjustments

Yes, I'm always using some dummy weight which imitates camera or camera+gimbal. Let's see about iOSD mk2.. I'll try first with mini version. My original budget for copter is exceeded twice already. (And I'm sure, that it is nowhere close to the limit :) )

Jack, thanks a lot for useful comments. 1. Yes, I've shortened one motor in this fashion. Therefore, I bought a bunch of shorter M3 bolts (6 mm instead of original 8) and mounted motors by those shorter ones. 2. Except of the maiden flight, I was always using some extra weight attached from...
