    Realflight drone simulator question

Hey Jim. Great move getting a sim (or practice mini quad) for practicing so you're familiar with controls and ready for the real thing. @Bartman did a video review of the sim. Might have some useful info in there. Check it out below.

I would recommend doing some research on the APM/Pixhawk before you buy. Yes, there is an interface and it is very robust. Plenty of info out there to see if you think you'd be comfortable with the choice. Many users here on MRF have had great experiences with the Pixhawk. But again, each user...

Difficult is really subjective. It's easy for some, impossible for others. It really depends on your ability to understand the programming. I think it's safe to say that most people find the setup for Naza quite easy, regardless of their abilities. But that comes with a price as well. Marriage...

    Please help

If you have not ordered the DJI gimbal already, then the Pixhawk becomes a more serious candidate. Bottom line: Naza will make your life easier with any DJI gimbal, as well as being generally easier to get flying well. There is a learning curve to APM that is well documented. Great features...

    Interacting with the FAA

I hope you're taking off and landing somewhere other than your nose :)

The DJI gimbal will want the Naza to be happy. Not impossible to run with a 3rd party FC, but not as easy.

The whole time? We had one glitch late in the show. For anyone who missed it, check out the archive when it's done later tonight. Great lineup with discussion on the new FAA registration, and the differences between the USA and Great Britan in regards to regulations with our good pal Angus...

Between the 2 machines, it really is only limited by your creativity....and the expense of raw stock. :)

    Hello, everyone!

Bay ridge! Nice!!! I'm up in Williamsburg. Home of the hipsters.... :) There are a ton of decent, cheap practice quads. Some of the more popular are Blade nano QX, various Hubsan and the Ominus series. Make sure you check feedback for the H3 on that camera specifically. I recall @econfly...

    Hello, everyone!

Welcome to Multirotorforums.com Kevin! Sounds like you are off to a good start with your background in film and RC. Have you been practicing with a small quad or simulator yet? There are some newer gimbals out there getting good results with the Sony (Gremsy, Infinity) and the price just...

I think you'll find that with the CNC and the printer you can do some really great stuff. Been meaning to start a build thread for the foldable X8 I made using center plates and retract mounts I made with my home built CNC. Looking forward to your progress.

FAA Announces Small UAS Registration Rule

While I understand this will not appease those who are against all regulations, for any activity/possession at all (drone or otherwise), this seems to be about as mellow as it gets. And it certainly is far less intrusive than the tide seemed to be flowing when the "rules" first began to be...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

Are you ordering from the U.S. Warehouses? I don't recall the shipping being so bad from inside the U.S. But you have to make sure you choose the proper method - since they seem to up charge for "faster" services.

    F550 Problems

I don't know of any way to read the current (or newly flashed) firmware on the esc. The flashing tool typically has a red dot on it that should line up with a dot on the chip. I believe if you had it wrong the esc would probably be trashed. So you should be good :)

Well worth it. I have yet to hear of anyone who runs the stock antennas. You should be happy with the purchase.

    How many here are Hams?

I planned on taking the test before I moved, and will probably find a place down here soon. I have no interest in yet another expensive hobby, so it would be to comply for FPV flying. :) I think it's a good thing to have. One of those things that may seem to many filled with knowledge that is...
