Based upon what was related in the article I think we just found out who was behind the text of the bill Jfro posted.

Small military BLOS UAS crashes in private back yard

One of the least reliable military BLOS sUAS is evidently being used for base surveillance here at home.sUAS used by the military. Made by Aerovironment. http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/05/15/military-drone-crash-lands-colorado-residents-yard

New Proposed Interim Rules Commercial Use

In the FAA's Part 107 NPRM there was no reference to an operator's flight test, only a written one. The language use in the NPRM was suggestive of a new written test more appropriate to the tasks a line of sight sUAS operator would be involved with. There was no reference to aircraft...

    Q500 Typhoon Altitude issue

I don't have a Yuneec but it took me 3 minutes to Google their home website where the ad for the 500 tells where you can adjust the altitude limit. There is also reference to this in the user manual, which you said, and perhaps misspoke, that you read. It took another 4 minutes to find that...

    Q500 Typhoon Altitude issue

I have not heard of anyone changing the limits. However, you might try reading the instructions;)

New Proposed Interim Rules Commercial Use

Everything in the NPRM pointed at a new knowledge test for sUAS operators. I read every bit of that thing and there were several references to the areas of knowledge, which not nearly as extensive as the PPL written. My thoughts just have a lot of people doing what most of the industry has...

    next build

I'm not voting in the poll because the first three are on the small side for me and would not make great use of some of the features you mentioned. What do you ant to do with the craft and how large influence what FC would work. If limiting to a Hex and no need to fly waypoints but having GPS...

Some of what I read in that is not good and definitely was not part of the 107 NPRM document.

Not all good in the hood

Oceans11, Our media is being forced by a very liberal billionaire, who also happens to be a media mogul himself, to prominently report on any activity involving a firearm. The various outlets will repeat a story over and over to provide the appearance of greater levels of firearm violence...

Not all good in the hood

Understood. I'm old, slow, and a bit limited physically hence some of my support for a decisive means of self defense. One thing is certain though, if every one involved lacks the ability to maintain a sense of calm and rationality the situation will probably end badly. One can control a...

    Interesting GPS. Real time kinematic

Nice concept but I think their claim of 4cm accuracy is seriously over stated. I've been using a dual and triple GPS receiver system in other applications for quite some time and 20cm accuracy is the best that can be hoped for unless the deliberate government degradation of GPS signals are...

Not all good in the hood

Cops are a reactionary force and prone to large delays in response to a call for help. Worse, in the U.S. several courts, including the Supreme Court, have ruled cops do not have a responsibility to protect the people. So they won't be there in time to save your butt, will show up long after...

    Quad Parts List

There seems to be an affinity for doing all the shopping at Hobbyking, perhaps for the cheapest components. If so I'll suggest expanding horizons and budget to enable doing things right once, instead of trying to correct problems later. It's cheaper and faster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    3DR anyone else having problems??

If you would like to be a super hero capture some video from the camera in various flight modes and post it somewhere, without editing. The grand debate everywhere at the moment is over how the Solo video compares with that of P3, and is the Solo stable enough in flight for the gimbal to...

    3DR anyone else having problems??

Back on topic, 3DR has an opportunity to initiate significant changes in the RTF "consumer drone" market, but they need to pay close attention to implementation and follow up. I'm concerned that moving their facilities to China could cause them to follow the long standing Chinese hobby business...

Very minimal flight time please help!!

If you elect to use that type of propeller mounting you will limit yourself to only a few propeller choices, and reduce spare motor availability. There are a lot of good motors in the 800-900kV range. Choose a good brand, say Sunnysky or similar, to minimize problems later.

I'm fairly sure that will be completely useless "seeing" drones of real consequence, unless it can see a satellite down link.

    Dromida Ominus tuning

Low battery looks the same as with the red light slow flashing as after you crash. A semi slow blink. It initiates a little before the battery is too depleted to maintain flight, say 30 seconds or so, before you need to be on the ground. If you ignore the change in blinking speed and keep...
