    Droidworx Frame Giveaway contest

This is relevant to my interests, I *suppose* I could be forced into accepting such a prize. :D

What are your goals to improve your flying skills?

I'd like to land when I want to, not when something else decides to spoil the fun (note, none of them have been battery related)

    Did you know?!?

I did, another top tip. If you use the following link you get all the posts since your last visit with new posts. http://www.multirotorforums.com/search.php?do=getnew&contenttype=vBForum_Post

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

You take that back! If people know I am useful they will ask me stuff, and that usually leads to doing. Most people know I do as little as possible :)

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

That's the aim, with longer arms and probably a paired pack for longer flight times. The Snap Quad is a gateway frame, snares you with simplicity and then boom, sooner or later you are modifying Octa's with carbon fibre props.

Not at all, your motors will be rated in KV (mine are 750) which means thats how many RPM you get per volt of battery input (in a perfect world, they aren't 100% efficient) My 750KV which are run on 3S (11.1v) will get 8325 RPM at full throttle....in a vacuum (no load) and 100% efficient. I...

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

That might not be far away. http://personal.osi.hu/fuzesisz/strc_eng/index.htm its not foolproof but its good for ballpark figures. Using the figures of 10" x 4.7 pitch x the maximum possible RPM of a 750 KV motor on an 3s (11.1v/8325rpm) battery at 68 deg F (20 deg C) gives me between 800 and...

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

Just remember, although you can put 10" props on that frame, its a really good idea not to. Its way too light for 800g of static thrust at each corner :)

    Battery combinations and connectors

OK those Traxas connectors look pretty sweet, especially the fact they shroud the solder side.

    Battery combinations and connectors

+1 for XT60 They are (if that makes any difference) about a third of the price of deans. I only with they were "push in pins" so that the shroud would come up over the soldered connections and protect them more.

    Newbie here

Welcome to the forums! (It's only 10pm in NJ, why isn't Bart doing his official greeting duteh?! :) ) Tip, don't send it up first time with the expensive camera :)

Pre & Post flight check lists.

TBH that's my preflight too. Don't forget the batteries in the TX are just as important.

Pre & Post flight check lists.

TBH most of this is common sense, but it does help to be methodical when you are flying for money. I know doing so has saved me many times on Photogrpahy and Video gigs. Post flight I always check the following (despite not having (m)any sucsessful flights) Put all the batteries on a balancer...

    Drioder's ADX3

Out of curiosity is there anything specific that makes the Spektrum kit incompatible with the MK system? I would have thought as long as it output "standard" PCM or PPM signals it would be pretty irrelevant which brand you chose.

    Professionnal shooting with an HEXASTAR-700

Yeah, I'm quite a-ways off that. Very nice work, love the editing and music. How are you finding the Sony NEX to work with?

Things I learned at the field today

I have considered writing "Gravity, not just a good idea, it's the law!" on the side of my quad for a while now. This will go along with the moto number and expected prop direction to stop me trying to put my pushers in the wrong place.

    SnapQuad/KK build thread.

So a couple more flights in and what have I learned. 10x4.5 propellers are WAY too powerful with this motor/frame combo, too much correction and its off like a rocket. I have some 9x5 and 8x4's coming from our friends at HK so I will test it again once they get here (might be a while, they are...

Things I learned at the field today

That looks way.....way.... to familiar. I am currently without copter due to severe prop attrition. Touch wood (SnapQuad frame :)) no motors or controllers were harmed in the making of my pilot training. Although the SnapQuad frame is more PVA than Ply now :o
