If you want more info on the SP3 here's, IMHO, a really good series on You Tube by Painless360
He also has a series on the NAZE32 and the Taranis transmitter.
If waypoint nav requires good GPS hold, then the SP racing is not for you. That is a very weak point in the current state of it's software development much like the NAZE32.
The D4RII indeed will send the voltage to the Taranis but must get the voltage from a frsky device that reads voltage or from a board like a NAZE32 that outputs voltage.
Give Cleanflight a shot. I think you will find it easy to set up and get in the air. I've got several Naze32/Cleanflight quads flying and have had virtually no problems.
You could be right about the DJI ESCs. I tried using them with a NAZE32 and couldn't get the motors to come up to speed correctly. Finally gave up. If there's a solution for this I'd be interested in hearing it. Was using DJI motors as well and Cleanflight. As Bart noted you will need a 5 v BEC...
More evidence of drone-mounted technology moving into the mainstream. Big guys in action.

Great update Bart - thanks. I built a F450 with a NAZA M V2 during the build and it was fun to work on and flies great. Highly recommended as a starter build. since then I've built a couple of quads using the NAZE32 and am now building one using the SP Racing F3. One word of caution - if...
Looks like GetFPV has them in stock http://www.getfpv.com/flight-controllers/sp-racing-f3-flight-controller-deluxe.html . Hopefully they can ship to BFE

It does happen, sometimes more than once. On the next one, just spend a lot of time learning how to get it home when you aren't sure what is happening. And, practice close to home.

Here's a nice little gadget to make disconnecting plugs very easy. I've tried them and they work. They are available for several different types of connectors.
