Which frame should I use 680 or 810

I am running the Naza v2 and the E800 motors. I used an extra bottom plate to hide all the electronics and with the Arris retracts and two 6600 6s batteries weighs around 5000 gr. With the two 6600's- 19 min flight and with a 10000 15 min. I think DJI under rated the E800 system. I have not had...

Which frame should I use 680 or 810

I have never had a 960 although I have read good reports. The 810 was a little smaller and fit my needs. Right now I am using a GoPro but plan on a Sony Nex size camera. I hung a basketball underneath to see about lifting the weight. It did fine.

Which frame should I use 680 or 810

I strongly suggest the 810 which is a strong frame and a perfect latching system for the arms. They are rock solid and do not have the plastic clips. I used the E800 system and upgraded to the carbon fiber 15 in. props. All I can say is it is a great system.

I got a tiny flight controller!

Hoki- Can you put some short standoffs between the plates and give yourself a little more room to put in the flight controller? It looks like all you need is 1/4 inch. That would be better than having the controller underneath where it could be damaged.

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

@Lylefk- I agree on the F550. The way it is setup is too light duty for a SLR camera. Although the DT7 radio system is good- there would not be any channels left for any other options. For your work I would use nothing smaller than a 800 size.

Completing Hex Build - Connecting Naza/Futaba

ProfEngr- I am sorry but I am not familiar with Taranis, but the price tag on Futaba gear may make me change. I read a lot of good comments on the Taranis.

Completing Hex Build - Connecting Naza/Futaba

Jay- You will find you will use up the channels pretty fast- 1 for s.bus, 6 for naza and that leaves 1 open. You will probably need two receivers one in mode B and the second in mode D to do anything else. I have one hex set up with one receiver and only using tilt for the gimbal. (Futaba 8J) I...

That is one area I forgot to ask her. I learned years ago to do the same with a little round bubble level. It really makes a difference.

    buying or building

I started out with the early Phantom and that is what hooked me. Now I build all of mine and love the building. The only trouble is a one week project can turn into months waiting for parts- if they have them. But I have to admit the new Phantoms are awesome with what they can do and the info...

lost visual of my lil drone

This is a wide area. They run from $20 to $300. I see you have the advanced which has a barometer on it. I am not familiar with the skyline32. But look for an osd that has a barometer and/or a gps. That is where you will get your height and distance. Most of the time they are inserted in the...

lost visual of my lil drone

Heavens Yes!! Numerous times I have had distance fool me as to which way I am headed. I learned to make a visual note of my surroundings and on my pad note some kind of landmark. This is where an OSD comes in handy to give you your altitude and a heading. Don't feel bad- we have all done...

I think I finally figured it out

Hoki- Just some things to check-- 1- Is your copter balanced- meaning not too heavy on one side? 2- Are your sticks calibrated? 3- Do you noticed one motor running faster or slower compared to the others? I really don't know much about the apm but I expect someone will chime in

    Lipo parallel setup smoking!

Yes- This could have been costly in more ways than one. When working on electronics, it pays to double check all connections with a meter before power is applied. This applies to even prewired that were purchased. The little multimeter is invaluable.

    Help! Dji Naza won't arm/start

There is an excellent section on this site - DJI NAZA flight control system under the DJI General Discussions Forum . Have you looked there? 1- Make sure you go thru the Naza assistant step by step- don't skip any sections 2- Make sure you have calibrated your radio sticks and you see them...

    Lipo parallel setup smoking!

I would take a multimeter and read the voltage with one battery- then plug in the second battery and read the voltage- should be the same. Also check each battery to make sure the manufacturer has not crossed the wires up. The voltage should be the same for each battery. Red= Plus Black=...
