A different view of an RC Heli flying

More video from Sunday at the flying field, this is our best pilot Eyal practicing his competition routine with a Trex 700. The video was a spur of the moment let's see if we can do this sort of thing, recorded using the Droidworx AD-6 and GoPro HD with Sunex lens, with the AD-6 in GPS position...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

Yes, 720P 60FPS, I'd use 1080 if the GoPro had a 60 FPS progressive setting for it. It's not so much the resolution as it is the FPS that makes the difference IMO and the combination of GoPro, 1080, and 30 FPS makes for crappy video. The GoPro is challenged to begin with when it comes to...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

I removed the standard rubber pad for use under the mounting bracket and made a replacement out of 1/8 inch sorbothane. The stack is now the MK frame, a 1/8 inch layer of sorbothane, the gear rail mounting bracket, the original rubber pad, the carbon fiber plate. I do have a tripod mount for...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

Yes, I did. The short answer is changed the material between the frame and gear rail mount and moved the rubber sheet to the bottom side of the gear rail bracket where its now sandwiched between the C/F plate and bracket to fully isolate the upper and lower sections from each other. The test was...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

It's a Pro Mount mini AV 130 as seen here... http://www.droidworx.com.au/promount.html This is the one I have... Here it is when it was on my Droidworx AD-6 before I rebuilt it as a heavy lifter... Now it's mounted under a stock MK Hexa, this one actually, that I've since sold...

A day out flying with the Hexa's

The rain finally stopped and conditions were the best they've been for a couple weeks this past weekend so it was time for a trip out to the flying field to see if I still remember how to fly! One of the main goals for the day was to get some video with both Hexa's now that the Droidworx AD-6...

    X8 First flight PID suggestions

Correct, as long as you did the accelerometer calibration with everything nice and level you should be good to go with just the F/C. I think you'll be amazed at the difference in stability between the two controller boards, as long as the calibration is done right there's no trimming that...

    X8 First flight PID suggestions

I did, had the lowers I think around 10% faster than the top. If I already had a flying flat Octo don't know that I'd bother doing the conversion, but that's just me. The X8 I built is now a quad again mainly because the Mk electronics I had in it went back into the Droidworx frame when I...

    X8 First flight PID suggestions

Start with the out of the box settings and see how it flys, I find I rarely have to make major changes to the basic setup parameters. Once you have a feel for what it flys like then you can start tweaking if needed, absolutely try it first and see what it does before you change anything is...

MK FPV Heavy-lift X8 using standard ESC's and Futaba TX/RX

You won't be needing that compass board with that Navi controller, its functions have been integrated into the 2.0 version of the Navi controller. You would have needed it with the previous version of the Navi board, 2.0 was released a very short time ago ( one or two weeks I think?) Ken

    Any insight

Adam, I've had some issues with the compass boards as well, had one just die recently for no apparent reason, worked fine the day before. Here's pic of the replacement I received from your stock, you may want to check any others you have to see if they have similar problems, this is the second...

Mikrokopter Fresh build, need help please

I doubt that it will make any difference at all to the GPS functions. You can easily verify that the various GPS modes are working correctly by connecting your computer to the Navi board with the MKUSB and then bringing up the OSD screen in MKtool while watching the status in the upper right...

    Hollywood aerial rig

I like the vibration dampening system that attaches the "helicopter" to the camera rig, pretty heavy duty and probably really efficient. Anyone notice the computer cooling fan hiding behind that outrageously large motor that powers the main rotor? I bet that thing throws off some serious heat...

    Any insight

I saw 79 Kph close to the end of trace the first time I looked using an older version of Export but I couldn't tell if that was horizontal or vertical speed... The events sound somewhat similar to what I experienced after I upgraded my stock Hexa to the .84 firmware set and had it...

    Any insight

The flyaway happened well before that, the loss of signal occurred when it flew out of signal range which then caused it to go down. If anything the emergency gas and throttle settings need to be raised so it doesn't fall quite so fast, that might have lessened the damage a bit as it would have...

    Any insight

I took a quick look and I can see that position hold was on from the moment it took off, or at least the Navi Control is reporting that. I can see where you went from P/H to come home and it pretty much just ignored it and kept on going until finally it lost the signal from the TX and went down...

    Any insight

The short answer is if all was working correctly it should have returned to the point where the motors were started assuming you had a GPS lock when you took off. If the reason why it went AWOL in the first place was due to some sort of hardware failure or software error then there's no way to...

    Xoar 12x5 wood props

I'd take 4 sets of the 10 inch, more if we wind up a couple short of making the minimum to place the order. What is the minimum number for custom order? Ken
