    CineStar 6 in the field

The LEDS are actually a lot brighter than they appear in the stills and I have two rows of them on each arm one oriented slightly forward and the other rearward. They are covered with a thick clear shrink wrap that picks up some of the color and helps make it a bit more visible as well as the...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

CineStar 6 returns to the Sheep Pasture to try out some new props and gain settings on the WKM... Ken P.S. I see Youtube has added some artifacts to the video as part of their post upload "processing", the little glitches I see here and there aren't in the original!

    CineStar 6 in the field

Got out early this morning before the snow got here, first decent day of flying since the CS had its little oops on New Years day. While I was out I recorded about 30 minutes of video the end result is uploading now... Ken

Show me your power distribution method - I need to find a new way...

Here's what I've been doing recently... Before that, similar idea but a bit of a pain with the center hole being blocked by the board... Ken

    Naza on Droidworx AD-6

GoPro HD on a Photohigher AV130. This is an old AV130 with Hyperion servos which aren't quite fast enough for video usually so I was quite happy to see the video I got from it on the AD6. Also tried it with my Nex 5N and it looked like crap, the extra weight is enough to slow the servos to the...

Totally stumped with Naza Controller - Possible Lemon?

I did find a way to make them work but it's a PITA to have to do it everytime you want to fly. It requires an auxiliary power source for the Naza and RX with a switch to turn it on and off, an RX battery pack works OK for this, you can plug it in then unplug it afterward. Plug in the main...

WKM Waypoint Photogrammetry - Simple Question

Unfortunately no, the WKM is a closed system, there is no way to download anything from it other than the configuration settings. I'm not sure what data the ground station software keeps, if anything, but I doubt you can get any useful data from it as well. Ken

    Naza on Droidworx AD-6

Just another variation of the Turnigy Plush, they were cheap and in stock when I needed a set of 30A ESCs, no better or worse than any of the others. Ken

    Naza on Droidworx AD-6

    Naza on Droidworx AD-6

Last week I setup a Naza controller on my Droidworx AD-6 frame to see what the combo could do. I did a couple test flights getting the settings right then put a GoPro on and this is the result... Ken

    MK Hexa becomes Droidworx Y6

Disconnect the navi board from the FC by removing the two ribbon cables and try flying it on just the flight controller with no nav/GPS. I had a similar problem on my AD6 and the yaw went away with the navi disconnected which tells me the compass was likely the problem. Cleaned up some wiring...

Aerodrive 8 vs Herkules II what's better for a DJI

Nice to see that someone is starting to look at doing it right for multirotors but at $80 to $100 per ESC I won't be running out to buy a set of 6 for the CineStar! Ken

    F450 Battery

I'd have to hook the F450 up to the netbook to tell you exactly, but I generally like to keep to no lower than 3.5 volts per cell. If it's an older pack I don't care that much about I'll run them down to 3.3 to get maximum flying time. 3.5 volts per cell would work out to 10.5 volts for the 3S...

    DJI 2212 motor stutters

What you're seeing is one of the phases is not working, the motor needs all three to start up. Either one of the connectors has a cold solder joint or the wire is broken on one set of windings. You can try wiggling the wires where they go into the connector from the motor to see if it will spin...

    Spektum TX Cases

I'm about 10 miles inland from the coast, it's ALWAYS windy here! It's a rare day when there is no measureable wind at all, even at the club flying field which is another 10 or 15 miles inland from me. When I first started flying helis I had to learn to fly in the wind fairly quickly, if not...

    Spektum TX Cases

RCH is about a 15 minute drive from the house, I know Jeremy well. I'm a member of NEHC and on the steering committee as well so I'm over that way quite a bit, I'll swing by this weekend and see if he has one to test fit to my 11X. Ken

    How low do you go?

What I usually do is fly in increasing increments of time and check the charge left in the battery afterward. Generally start off with a 5 minute flight, check the packs, swap to another set of batts and fly for 7 or 8 minutes depending on where the first set were at, the goal being to find out...

I wonder if my JR 11X would fit. I just matched it up to my DX7 and it's quite a bit bigger in all dimensions... Ken
