    Dji F330 - H

-H for Hoverfly Sport flight controller! I like the 330mm frame size for aerobatic flying and general bashing around the sky, I've been having fun with the F450 with Naza controller but it's a bit too big and the Naza a little too slow for really tearing it up so I decided to give this...

NAB PhotoHigher, Droidworx, DJI Short Review with a few PICS

Those appear to be for adjusting the postion of the camera platform, possiblly to allow the lens to be centered to the tilt axis depending on the camera in use, that would be my guess. Ken

Taking an afternoon break with an F450

We had to take it down before it came down on it's own, tree was dying a not so slow death and my wife was worried that it might wind up in the attic soon so good bye tree... Waiting for the local landscaper to give us the final quote/design for a new front yard with a new pair of trees and...

    mQX one for the road

Ed, I tried to make it all fit in the case along with the DX7 but it just doesn't work. I've flown it with both and while the RTF TX isn't nearly up to the standards of even a DX6 it does the job well enough for what I'll be doing with it. New job is a lot more interesting than the old one even...

    Current Firmware Question

As the saying goes, if it isn't broken, don't fix it! I have the latest 5.02 loaded on both of my WKM and it works well but still wobbly in the wind, I also have the Assistant software for the older versions but I don't know if the firmware is for those is still up on the DJI servers. That's one...

Taking an afternoon break with an F450

A small piece of medium density foam underneath and two velcro tie straps is all I use to hold the GoPro to the tab on the lower frame plate, just solid enough to keep it from flying off but not solid enough to cause jello, and of course a set of Graupner props helps keep the vibes at a minimum...

    mQX one for the road

Now that I spend a lot more time on the road for work I've been looking for an easy way to bring a quad along to kill time during the evenings at a hotel, here's what I've come up with... Has pretty much everything including some spares tucked away in the foam. I originally bought the mQX...

Taking an afternoon break with an F450

After lunch I pulled the F450 off the shelf and went out for a little flight break before getting back to work, decided to velcro the GoPro on and here's what I got out of it... I'm on the road for work the next two days, I'll be limited to flying the mQX in the hotel room tomorrow night so...

Go Pro offerings - what to buy?

Heck no, when I first got my F450 I used two velcro straps to tie the bare GoPro to the front tab on the lower frame plate. Doing that with a set of 10 x 5 Graupner props it worked far better than I anticipated... Ken

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Unfortunately that's pretty much normal behavior for the WKM in windy conditions, a combination of the frame bouncing around and the gimbal stabilization not being quite up to the job. A couple things you can do to mitigate the problem, lower the ATTI gains on both pitch and roll, that's where a...

    Photohigher RSGS --- new video

I really hope that was a prototype and wasn't done with a production quality board, I can keep the horizon a lot steadier than that on my Cinestar6/AV130 without a RSGS! I would not be pleased to install the RSGS I have on order and find out the AV130 doesn't work as well as not having it... Ken

    Interesting Z axis settings..

The WKM is VERY sensitive to disc loading and flight weight and though I have yet to figure out exactly how they interact with each other there is definitely a relationship as well as with the axis measurements. In your case it sounds like the gain settings need to be tweaked for the weight...

Go Pro offerings - what to buy?

There are a lot of options available, the most basic being to simply stick a mounting foot to the top or bottom of the quad and be able to quickly install and remove the GoPro and case as needed. problem with that is you will get a fair amount of vibration and rolling shutter effect AKA Jello in...

Photo Higher HERO series camera gimbals

I know of at least 4 Photohigher resellers in the USA and I've had parts sent directly from the factory in New Zealand to my house in Massachusetts so yes they will ship to the States as well as having dealers already here. Waiting on a Skyline controller to see how much that improves the...

Hoverfly XY8 with Hoverfly Pro, first flight

Unlike the Mk which you setup to perfectly level and then calibrate the accelerometers to teach it what level is, with the H/F you get it in the air in manual mode and then turn on autolevel. Now you use the trims on the TX to get it to fly level, best done in calm conditions for good results...

Hoverfly XY8 with Hoverfly Pro, first flight

I've pretty much come to the conclusion that the Pro board I have is crap. Being one of the first ones off the assembly line way back when there is clearly something not right with this board because no matter what I do with firmware versions, gain settings, calibrations, frames, configurations...

    Fotos from NAB

You could be right there, it also mentions the price of the ruling as $5000 so that all adds up to pretty close to what you would expect a full package deal to cost. Still WAY more $ than I'm willing to spend for hobby use! Allegedly there will be new firmware soon that fixes the issues with...

Mikrokopter Which heat sink to get for BL's?

I have a set of those in the first pic on my FPV quad, they fit perfectly and work quite well. Whatever you decide to go with make sure to use Arctic Silver thermal epoxy to glue them on, if you google it you can find it fairly cheap. I recently bought some from a computer store in Katy, TX for...

    Bad Day Flying

Sorry to hear that, had days like that myself and it's no fun at all. Speaking of props, I was at the field yesterday with some of my multis and a new club member stopped by with his DJI F450 that needed a little tuning. Hooked it to the laptop and made some gain changes and did some test...

    DJI Redundancy

It may work fine on the small 550 frame but I have two separate videos that say otherwise on large and heavy hexa, both instances were on the Cinestar6. Motor went out in flight and in both cases there was no chance of recovery and believe me, I tried really hard to keep it in the air. First...
