HOW DO THEY DO THAT? - Product photos

Stacky, I love the idea of the nylon to diffuse the light. never thought of that. There is this stuff we use in the sign industry called sign white. GE lexan but milky white instead of clear or fully opaque. It is designed to take out the hot spots of the lights behind a sign. That would be...

HOW DO THEY DO THAT? - Product photos

Yeah but that only works well if you have an even color background.

Hoverfly Down to my last multirotor

Its mainly the fact that it's coaxial. The common loss in efficiency is about 10-15%.

HOW DO THEY DO THAT? - Product photos

It's a tedious job to perfectly cut out a complex object like that. The better way is to make either a softbox or a backlit white screen. It takes a lot of experimenting but what you get is a more pro feel when there are subtle shadow details where the object comes in contact with the ground...

Hoverfly Hit a tree, broke a prop and still made it home.

I still dont see how thats even possible. But proof is in the video.

Advice of Thread Lock for Fastening prop adapters and motor mounts to motors - help

Definitely use it on the hub to motor screws. But I think a nylock is way better than using loctite on your prop nut.

    DJI F450 First EVER Build

Charlie, when you get to the point of mounting the camera, you might want to try a pair of my legs and cam mount specific for that frame. Check them out at http://www.irisaerial.com/products.html Cheers Yuri

    How to properly tighten props

I keep wrenching the nut down with a 1/2" ratchet until I just start to see the motor shaft twist about 1 full rotation. Any more than that and the aluminum hub will twist and break apart. If you use a torque wrench set it to 100ft. Pounds. Kidding of course. Nylocks are the answer.

Hoverfly Unable to setup 4.3.802. Setup Client 1.5.0.60 not available

Agreed, 802 is superior to anything I have ever flown on any fc on any craft. Hopefully they dont go Apple on us and make us update. Or better yet, make the new firmware as solid as the old one. It's odd to me that the manufacturer always has such great results but only half the users make it...

Can I get a little soldering advice?

In welding we call it "wetting out." it's possible your soldering iron doesnt get hot enough. You want that thing full blast and do things quickly. After tinning both ends you want to hold the soldering iron on there until everything is wetted out with solder. a trick i use is to place a...

Hoverfly Calibrate ESC's or?? Using HF Sport. (Choppy Throttle)

I did all the esc throttle calibrations together and it worked fine. Why would it not be able to? The FC doesnt do anything, right? And yes, the throttle response is TOUCHY! even with a gentle curve. oh well.

    ESC Soldering

No problems at all snipping and soldering direct to esc's. I was actually thinking of making a product that would be cheap and easy to "try" out a certain wire config to make the correct motor rotation. But with my contraption idea aside, I think what you say is correct in that all esc's...

    Aeronavics / Droidworx It flies!

If I do any motor upgrades it will be a major 6s overhaul. I want to know that these pancakes have a decently priced esc that works well with hoverfly that has the appropriate timing. from what I understand pancakes need a higher timing than is available on most esc's.

Who are the big players in quads besides DJI?

Hoverfly has the potential to be bigger and better but for now they just have chosen to focus on making a really fantastic and stable flight controller. No way points or fancy features but it flies better and more reliably than anything I have ever had. MK had their shot but chose to take the...
