Have you talked to Quadrocopter or Hoverfly? I h=think it's actually ok to have the blades within 1/2" or so. Pretty sure thats not your problem. You've rolled through some different gains and nothing changes? Weird. Maybe you can talk to Ben, he has the same and flies big cameras.

You are over proped! 2826 with 14" SF's is way too much lift for a nex5n. Get some 12" SF and try that.

they dont commonly control roll since that is auto compensated for. The cam op normally controls pan/tilt/zoom.

yes. Perhaps our hoods are different. Mine screws into the camera. As filters have threads on the outside as well to stack filters you screw it onto the filter.

Actually, Ben's videos are a great example of simple is better. I showed my cam op some of his shots and how simple but smooth they are. I had a friend that wanted to do all sorts of S bends around a statue and I was just thinking this is gonna turn out like crap. Good communication is key...

No, just go buy a $10 tiffen. Then you screw on the hood to the threads of the filter. The only issue was the hood rotates around due to the design. Again, I have a 760 so it may be different. but a little tape fixes the problem.

I just bought a cheapo. There are tons out there. The crap part is once you screw it on, the hood doesn't lock onto the body of the camera. I ended up using tape.

What focal length? You start zooming in too much, add crop factor, and any movement is going to get interpreted into motion blur. Especially if you are using 24 or 30fps. I would say anything above 35mm and you better have perfect balance.

One of the hardest things to do is to let the camera guy do the yaw. In your Jet shoot, you would have just flown up and over and to the right, he would take care of the rest. Orientation can get weird at distances since the gimbal is spinning around not in your control. So what I do is added...

Hoverfly Help... Is my Gain too High?

I thought the lazy osd was fixed? I was really hoping to utilize this on my next fpv rig. What about the voltage, is there a way to make that accurate, seems everyone has this issue. Try putting stiffer props on and see what happens, just as a test. like APC thins or Graupner 11's if those...
