Hybrid multi-rotor , gas engine for lift and electric motors for control

Thank you for being forthright. I should clarify that religion in and of itself should not matter, just how it is leveraged. I've spent considerable time in your general area of the world and found most people are the same as anywhere else and want the same things. To be safe, have a full...

    Beware, Diesel-Electric Locomotives

I had arranged to get up close and personal with the engine, really close, and it may have been just a close in to the side thing. The locomotive was accelerating from dead stop at the time. Don't really know for sure but there had been no issues in a flight a few minutes previous without the...

    Beware, Diesel-Electric Locomotives

Something I should have been really thinking about but didn't before starting a shoot this morning; An operating diesel-electric locomotive is extremely radio noisy. Found that out a little too late after my FPV screen when total static and lost control of the bird as the locomotive passed in...

Paparazzi are going to ruin our Hobby/Work for us.

I've had inquiries from people asking how our devices can be prevented from operating in certain areas. Things are indeed going to get bad for us relatively soon due to the lack of respect for others demonstrated by far too many people.

Hybrid multi-rotor , gas engine for lift and electric motors for control

Before this thread goes any further I'd like to know the nationality and physical location of the OP, along with political and or religious affiliations. Those matter quite a lot any more I'm sorry to say. The subject matter of this thread is bouncing heavily on subjects that are controlled...

I was wondering how you worked. Thanks for the enlightenment:) We should touch bases soon.

    Pixhawk Feedback?

If the yaw was to have "flowed" instead of "turn" that would have been awesome. I agree, so much time is spent seeking just "the" light conditions to make the scene as sensitive as possible. You missed the landing on the picnic table;) For some reason I have an affinity for landing on them...

    Pixhawk Feedback?

All the recent activities at 3dR are mighty suggestive of big things coming out of them soon. Quinn and now a Branson investment? Hmmm, sounds pretty good.

    Pixhawk Flight modes

I have a 3dR quad running APM 2.6 that features a similar three position switch and a Pixhawk in another copter that makes use of two switches for 6 flight modes. Your description of the positions relative to DJI was good. In addition to the three positions you described, each can be set to a...

    3dr x8

Jubz, I'd place a call to 3dR and ask those questions direct. I do not have an answer. Rob, I've had a bit over 20 years direct experience with the Chinese and Thailand where hobby grade products are concerned and to date not one of the makers I've dealt with has demonstrated one iota of...

    3dr x8

The 433 version of the X8 was essentially a mistake. It was supposed to have been a 2.4 and 5.8 arrangement ( I know this because I was the one that laid out the order for the end user) but it somehow got out the door in 433 and 2.4. The only changes from the box stock config has been an...

    3dr x8

Probably a case of not too many flying the X-8 since many in this forum are flying heavy lifter for cinema type work while others are overly enamored by the advertising dollars being spent by DJI that try to compensate for a lack of reliability. OTH, I fly one and have found it to be a very...

Interesting Article re use of UAVs

Attended a meeting at a major aerospace firm yesterday where the subject of hobby grade UAV's was broached. There was an implication they would be regulated out of contention for airspace use using existing and upcoming laws in order to maintain airspace and business access for the more...

Don't do it the hard way

Do not arm a Pixhawk if the transmitter switch was accidentally left in "return to land" mode. This was such a memorable experience I've only done it once. If you do you had better be very fast with your reaction times.

    How to power fpv tranmitter

Nice thing about "knowing nothing about electricity" is that you have an open book to start filling in. Nobody starts out knowing everything, some have a little basic understanding while others might be employed in something that helped them build their knowledge level. You have the...

    How to power fpv tranmitter

Better to go from one into two and not "daisy chain power supplies. Tarot has a website with all their data and software upgrades. You would be wise to take the time and visit it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    How to power fpv tranmitter

The Tarot has an instruction sheet the provides the voltage range. You can use a 3s battery for the gimbal but check the data sheet for the video TX to be certain that will handle 12 to 14v as well. I'm no familiar with he Boscam so can't say it will or won't. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
