New Lithium Battery Triples Capacity and Charges Fully in Just Ten Minutes

All that aside, the Tattu brand of batteries is one of the best you can use. I've got a bunch of them and they are on a par with Max Amps products. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New Release: KDEXF-UAS75HVC and KDEXF-UAS95HVC series ESCs

I know of someone that has already placed order for these and was in discussion with them last weekend. They found them to look like a nice product. In addition to that discussion there was talk of using the new 80A T-motor ESC's with the large KDE motors. The same people have already tested...

    3DR anyone else having problems??

Thanks Rob, that's quite a statement coming from corporate management levels. We both know corporate players are loathe to admitting mistakes or failures, instead generally phrasing any comments to completely avoid blame and responsibility while remaining non committal. That was an...

Do you think the smartphone is suitable to control multi rotor helicopter?

I'll take the established brand name RC controlled unit over the smart phone every time for a serious multirotor. Smart phone control is fine for short range toys but not for MR's designed and intended to perform work while carrying a significant payload in tough environments.

    3DR anyone else having problems??

It can, by tweaking the hover at throttle % line.

    3DR anyone else having problems??

APC 10-4.7's work out pretty well if they will fit. The throttle position delta between Stab and Loiter is usually induced by weight. In Stab the throttle position is whatever it takes to do the job. Using hover as a reference, if carrying a little too much weight the throttle position could...

    Frontline aerial footage

Something that becomes clear in the report is that governments, the U.N. and the W.H.O, do not exist to help the people. They appear to be only focused on their image. When things go south on massive scale people have to be prepared to help themselves. A very hard thing to do and education...

    3DR anyone else having problems??

At that price you're getting a full Pixhawk with a copter and transmitter thrown in for only a $100 or so more. Not a bad deal at all. I don't like the transmitter for it though.

    Pixhawk Programming

A little late but if working with the USB cable when doing a compass cal the cable can easily disconnect, terminating the calibration. An idea is to use something to secure the cable to the copter that prevents it from disconnecting while rolling the copter around.

Product Review ---> 3D Robotics Iris+ RTF Quad

If they use the same motors as they do on the X-8 and quad, blue 850 or black 880kV, they certainly aren't the best in the world. They'll fly it just fine but won't tolerate much abuse. The bearings are their weak point. The black 880kV motors do have some grunt with the 10-4.7 props while...

    Tuning values, 3DR Iris+ with Tarot 2D??

Bart, All the 3DR RTF copters are pre-configured out of the box with the exception of failsafe modes. I believe the battery voltage and amperage failsafes are dialed in for the batteries supplied with the copter. I would check that and do a compass cal just in case though.

Small military BLOS UAS crashes in private back yard

Government property remains government property, even if it's in a ship wreck on the bottom of the ocean 1000 miles out to sea. They covered all the bases pretty well. OTH, most of the smaller UAS they use do not have any means of being tracked once power to the system is cut off. Most of...

New Proposed Interim Rules Commercial Use

I don't think the leadership of Lockheed, General Atomics, Boeing, Northrup, Amazon, and a few others will be all that interested in what you have to say. Last year alone Boeing provided about $20 million to political action committees for both parties and numerous lobbyists. The other...

New Proposed Interim Rules Commercial Use

I sat through a couple long Power Point presentations put on by people that are participating members of the FAA ARC committee and also employed at higher levels of the corporate aerospace group. They were "closed" meetings intended for educating aerospace "insiders" as to the direction the...

    Phantom 3 or old version 2 ?

Personally, I would wait a few weeks before buying a P3. It usually takes a few weeks to a month or so after DJI releases a new product for all the defects to become widely noted. They have yet put to a new product on the street that didn't have one or more problems. I'm with Bart, don't ever...
