Here's a flight from last night just as the sun was setting. Got a little dark on me and my FPV cam didn't handle it too well so I was flying pretty conservatively.
Thanks! I agree, this is one heck of a setup. Here's my very first FPV flight with it, I can't believe how good the video looks right out of the camera:
Yeah they're now taking down the gimbal between pre-orders so people don't get too anxious I guess. Keep checking back though as this is one heck of a deal. Gimbal, motors, controller, and frame for $300 USD.
Here's my very first FPV flight with it:
The gimbal is made in Spain. They put up preorders ever couple of weeks then take it down so you kind of have to keep checking back. I just got lucky one day and the pre-order was up.
Here is their web site:

Thanks! I too was quite happy with the results. As always I'm still fighting vibrations but it turned out well.
The gimbal is controlled by a separate board and sensor. The sensor goes on the camera plate and the control board is that red board behind the gimbal in the photos. I guess the...
Here's a video of boring backyard scenery but awesome gimbal results. This video doesn't have any post stabilization. This is my new quad flying with the Hoverfly Pro and a separate brushless gimbal for my GoPro 3. Pretty smooth, especially given how windy it was.
Cool, can't wait to see what you come up with. Definitely post it when you've got it up and running.
As much as I wanted to put my new brushless gimbal on one of my DIY folding frames I ended up putting it on the frame it was intended for and just added another plate to mount my Hoverfly Pro...
Are they Digital servos? I had a set of Hightech analog servos on my gimbal back before they moved to digital only. I missed the note of using digital servos on one of the firmware upgrades and within just a few minutes of bench testing I had fried my analog servos, bummer.
I would also try flying with the servos on the gimbal unplugged. It might be the vibration dampening is too soft or too hard but if you take the servos out of the equation you might be able to see the vibration better.
I know when I unplugged my servos on an old gimbal I had, I discovered the...
Well it turns out the HFPro board won't fit :( Grrr... that thing doesn't fit hardly any frame unless they're gargantuan!
However, it has a bolt pattern for the sport board but alas with the angled headers I wouldn't be able to get any plugs into the board because the vibration supports are in...
Sorry I don't have an answer for you but I have to admit I got all excited when you said you reflashed with 4.02 firmware. I thought you meant you flashed 4.02 Hoverfly firmware to your sport board. Finally a new firmware but alas 3.17 is all that is available for the sport board. You must have...
I've seen some great deals on used HF Pro's and GPS gear lately over on RCGroups classifieds. If I wasn't spending all my cash on my brushless gimbal I would have picked up the Black board + GPS for $450. Then another sale a few days later for the same combo at $540 together. It's a buyers...
That was FUNNY!!!
I know my rights!
I do wish the HF Guys would post some tidbits of what they might be working on, future updates, products etc. I know it always seems to produce a swirl of angst but it's fun to read about new stuff!
Don't hold me responsible but.... :)
The Black board has just a pass through for the power on the OSD. I used mine that way before it was destroyed in a crash. My green boards provide 5v on the OSD lines so you can't put power to them.
So you should be good to go!
I realize this isn't directly related to HF unless you count the fact that I'll be using one of my Pro boards as the FC for my new frame/gimbal from Quaternium. Hopefully the Pro board fits on the frame as the gimbal has a nice rail based vibration dampening system that bolts right onto their...
