Hoverfly New Hoverfly Forum is now open!!

The kicker for me is that we are still getting shafted since we are probably paying $10,000 or more (via our taxes) for a $450 FC on the DOD contracts. Pure speculation on my part but wouldn't be surprised.

    Phobotic CenterPiece Owners Thread.

Pretty much exact same experience as Motopreserve for me too. I will reiterate that my hard mounted GoPro footage also showed no vibes. The most success I have had so far is using harder dampers than original and sandwiching a natural sponge in between the bottom plate of frame and vibe-damper...

    Phobotic CenterPiece Owners Thread.

Looks like you have the same bouncing/wobbly effect I have been having with the same gimbal, anti-vibe system, and CP. Although I have been flying a Nex 5 and now an A5100, so I think lighter cams. Will be interested to see if you get rid of those. Thanks for sharing.

    MAPIR compact survey/mapping cameras

This looks very interesting but 1 shot/3 secs just isn't fast enough for most of my mapping endeavors.

X8 and Hex redundancy with pixhawk?

This is pretty impressive for hex redundancy - http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/apm-copter-v3-3-rc5-failure-and-recovery-one-motor-rotated-by-90#comments (look in the comments for another person reporting prop loss and landing it fairly fine)

How in the world do you fly FPV??

Been there on watching a copter fly away, sorry. I definitely learned my lesson that day. I did use this radio telemetry setup for a long time - http://com-spec.com/rcplane/index.html w/one of these: http://com-spec.com/rcplane/index.html I had to use it once and it worked perfectly to find a...

High current melting solder on PDB

I assume the ATTO is between the battery(ies) and the PDB? Just verifying, since you won't get accurate readings if not.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

+1 I'm hoping the slow traffic here means people are having excellent results with the InfinityMR, as is usually the case of this sort of behavior on forums. What we've seen so far on the encoder controller side is fantastic.

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

Nope, this one - http://www.overskyrc.com/hdmi-to-av-sony-converter-v2-ntsc-version-p-519.html No video switch either. I just have the nex and no flight camera. I mostly just plan a waypoint mission and watch it fly away and then turn to Mission Planner and watch were the copter is on the map...

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

I use an older version of this 1.3ghz transmitter: http://hobbywireless.com/12-13-ghz-transmitters-c-179_117_165_113/txv1012plus-dual-power-5001000mw-1213-ghz-plug-play-transmitter-usa-p-155.html. It connects to an HDMI converter on the Nex5t I use. The gimbal is powered via a BEC connected to...

    pixhawk constant turn to left.

You've done the radio calibration in Mission Planner I assume? Have you checked your yaw trim on the Taranis?

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

This blows away anything I have gotten with my CP on a Quadframe V2 BLDC or a friends DYS Eagle Eyes with it. And that's in perfectly still weather with those gimbals. Just sayin. Looking forward to more users results here.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

Excellent. Like it that you are using a Nex series camera as that is what I use. What lens is that? Hope the rain stops soon!

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

@Mediakopter.no - Thanks for updating us! When you get a chance (maybe when you post your first video:D) would you post your setup, both copter and camera(s).

Advice for BEC / wiring from experienced AP/AV folk

I would just do a 5v BEC and a 12V BEC. I believe I read that Jakub (InfinityMR gimbal) said he sees better/equal performance at 12V on the gimbal. That way you have the redundant power to Pixhawk (5V) and you could run these LED's (I use them and like em') at 5V from the rail or rx. Everything...

    The Future of Propeller Technology

I am using the DJI 15x5.2 - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1079990-REG/dji_cp_sb_000221_premium_propeller_pack_for.html I don't know that everyones experience will equal mine. Especially after spend a bunch of time reading about them and most people saying 4-7% efficiency loss but...

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

Good question. I folded up the props and tried to put it in the back seat of the truck and it fit. Flying just got so much easier. So I haven't checked to see what it is like with arms folded.

    The Future of Propeller Technology

I just wanted to report back on my experience with the KDE triple prop adapters. I am absolutely blown away by the quality and performance! I was skeptical but reading about them and seeing who is using them I couldn't resist the urge. I thought I would be losing a little bit of flight time but...

Quadframe Foldable Pro SIXcopter - medium lift need

A little update on where I'm at with this copter. I just switched over to the KDE triple propeller adapters with DJI 1552 props. I was very skeptical about this move but from what I had read and who it was from I just couldn't resist giving it a try. I had to do something because the 15x5.5 CF...
