    Hoverfly Hoverfly GPS, another approach

Silly question but did you set the declination or is that done with the firmware on HF. With DJI you need to twist the whole gps/mag unit and keep it well away from motor wires Etc. With Naza-H and WKM I get a position lock that is about 2 mtrs. max. with the tx on the ground. Check out the new...

    RC Timer S800 clone

Bart I have three Zens. and I think you know that I love them. Nothing comes close...YET. But I would sure like to get my hands on a new Align. I don't think they make their own electronics so that aspect is a bit worrying. But one of their 800's with the new mount could be a real winner. The...

    APC Thin experiences

There are a few vid. tutorials on how to balance props. It's really not that difficult. The thing to remember is that it is not just about the tip to tip weight but also you must check the hub for offset, with the prop. hanging in the vertical plain. Remove material with 150 wet n dry and finish...

    APC Thin experiences

The Align S800 gimbal looks like very good value for money. If it can compete with the Zen on pointing accuracy then its a winner. I just hope the dedicated stabilizer is not a rebadged typical load of crap. To get Zen type of performance requires two IMU's. Indirect servo drives are not great...

    Second Transmitter for Camera Control

You would be better off powering the 2nd Rx separately. If your gimbal stalls for any reason it will brown out your main control Rx.

have I thrown away all this money for nothing?

I think I can see your initial problem.... The 10% throttle should only be active when you are in failsafe.(Tx is off) I am guessing that you did not follow the correct way in setting that up.(see Tx manual) Set your throttle to 100% without trim or expo. etc. I would also suggest tethering the...

    S800 alternative props

From what I can see the distribution of lift along the blade is far better than the DJI 15x5 carbon blades. It will come back to what material they are using I think...

Damn copterkids get all the cool gigs!

Once you are comfortable with a good electric 700-800 size heli you don't go back. The Naza H makes it a lot easier. By the time the Gopro-4 arrives I expect we will be using 500 size helis. with auto object tracking and 70x zoom function. Flying backwards or sideways at speed the heli just...

    S800 alternative props

Lets hope the penny has finally dropped with all of these bad prop manufacturers. That said, it is my understanding that they all come from the same source in Shenhzen

    S800 alternative props

Delusional.... It has nothing to do with WKM as it occurs on the test rig which has only a servo tester and a ESC. to drive the motor. The WKM does not alter timing or any other torsional frequency parameters, that is done inside the ESC. The TM props have one good thing about the design and...

    S800 alternative props

I wouldn't get too carried away with the delusional Carbon hype. They transmit a lot aerodynamic vibrations which is why you get that ringing sound. Partly due to the way they are mounted, which being flat acts like a tuning fork. (Wood for ever - carbon never.)

Kloner old buddy, they are so quiet, all I could hear was a lot of heavy breathing. Something else going on !!!!

Anyone tried the Crius AIO Pro board

Talon flies great on a Afroflight 32 from TimeCop. Needs a little attention on the rear bearing to take out the slop. But it's a well thought out and well made cheapo for having lots of fun. Just like to see what the Crius can do.

Anyone tried the Crius AIO Pro board

I've had a Crius All In One board laying about for a few months and it looks to be a great spec. for not much money if you compare it to say the APM-2.5 As I have a Turngy Talon under evaluation it seems like a good time to run it up the pole and give it a wave. We all know that it works very...

New Z15's woeful idea of horizontal

I think your next move to get the best results from the S800, should be changing the props for wooden 15x4 Xoar or similar and stiffening the arms. Plenty of good examples currently flying reliably now. Do make sure your declination is set correctly. And yes the horizon is affected by how well...

Aerial Media Pros BROKEN INTO Please keep eyes and ears open for RTF XM8 Skyjib & RED

We have this problem in Cyprus. It is usually Romanians who get their under age kids to do the break-in so that they can't be prosecuted while they wait outside in the get away vehicle. My local model shop owner caught a bunch of these kids on his security camera while they made faces at the...

Licenses to shoot commercial AP and AV in the US?

They are civil servants so the easy way out is to say NO. Anything else requires work and risk.

More bad news, Droider's shop fire

Bad luck Dave, with all of this cold weather we often leave fires on and get forgetful with soldering irons and battery chargers etc. whatever caused your fire only serves as a reminder to us all that we cant be too careful in our workshops. There but for the grace of God go all of us.
