Bart that would be excellent. I have already started rewinding MT 4008 and 3506. plenty of scope to remove a lot of weight at the same time.

    Brushless Gimbal Developments

I've ordered a couple of boards and the right IMU for the job and am now starting to work on some motors. Alex was using a 12 pole motor which I have but I like the idea of trying an 18 pole motor which should give better torque. Anyone know how a 18 pole motor is wound in Star? 3 goes into...

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

The way that I do it is to use the clients time to shoot extra material that goes into stock for later use. Every couple of years or so I do another book or sell it on. I do about a dozen book signings during the year with the video playing in the background. It pays the bills and promotes the...

How NOT to fly a hexa DJI

Watching that video at the stadium I think the pilot was completely disorientated and crashed under (controlled flight into terrain). Lack of proper training is the real cause of that accident. He was flying much too fast to get any usable footage. It looked like a classic fly away.

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

I am planning to put the Naza-H Vid. up next week when it's finished, just putting a GoPro-3 on the side to see the Zen working, thats is. if it stops blowing a gale and pissing down. I feel sorry for the poor people who came here for a holiday last month. They were expecting blue skies and...

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

You are welcome to come over but the weather is no good for about two more months. We start skiing next week. It is not such a big deal to get into helis. and you don't need such a bespoke machine such as my TDR Hybrid. The Naza H will make it a lot easier. I think with Align coming into the...

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

Now if you really want to lay down the gauntlet how about any MR against my TDR. Hybrid. OK it's not fair but..... In between the bad weather here, I started shooting Naza H demo that shows just how good this stabilizer/autopilot really is. If you can fly a MR to a reasonable standard you could...

    DJI Zenmuse gimbal for Gopro

Nick, the stepper motor can be made to work with a very expensive micro stepping driver which you would need one for each axis. So the question is why do it when you can rewind something like a TM 3506 pancake motor that will do the job without any feedback encoder in both the tilt and roll...

Finally for all unhappy S800 users - antivib upgrade

I used a thin cable system which I think works better as it has no natural frequency. Because motion can only go one way in tension and not compression.

    DJI Zenmuse gimbal for Gopro

I don't think stepper motors will be able to compete with direct drive torque motors, I went through that stage years ago. A stepper has a resolution of only 1.8 degrees which with a micro stepper drive can subdivide that 1.8 degrees, this becomes very heavy and expensive to do...

    The Old Zenmuse GH2/Nex-5 thing...

I cant say that I have really seen much of a difference myself, the Nex-7 is capable of quality results in the right hands. I think the new Panasonic DMC TZ40 is going to start a revolution into even smaller and lighter cameras that have image quality that goes beyond what most people will ever...

    Brushless Gimbal Developments

What he appears to be selling is the brushless controller, with a I2c imu input. the performance will come back to the IMU which he does not appear to be selling. I can see how this can work in a simple two axis but I'm not convinced about how the pann axis will work unless it uses a FC or...

    Brushless Gimbal Developments

Boris I think that this cross axis interference is caused by the stand alone IMU (On the baseplate) and not the brushless controller. It is not that difficult to remove in the imu firmware.

Yes I have been working on a similar project with something that could turn out to be even better, smaller and lighter using these flat Piezo PCB motors.
