Any power line EMI Guru's out there??

I do not envy the challenge you are facing here. If the issues is grid emi that is close to 2.4Ghz used for RC wireless control, how does one filter that out and allow 2.4Ghz fhss to pass thru? I assume you are using a high quality 2.4Ghz radio system and not a parkflyer limited range RC system...

ESC went dead and WKM saved my hex

And that is one one needs to utilize the IOC feature that will enable the pilot to bring it straight home while it is still spinning. And as Ferdinand and others have pointed out...... having a lot of flying experience with the MR in manual mode can also help to get it back on the ground...

Any power line EMI Guru's out there??

There is a lot of radio frequency emissions coming from the electrical grid. IEEE 519 stipulates limitations on harmonic limitations for electrical consumers as well as the gridline systems. The source of harmonics are the VFDs - variable frequency drives used to enable conventional single...

Aeronavics / Droidworx Vibration dampener question (droidworx quick detach gear rail)

Not an expert by any means but just reflecting here several ideas that others claimed has helped a lot. Read on a recent post here where someone took some soft noise protection earplugs and squished them inside of the black dampeners to stiffen them up a bit more. Gives you the option to make...

    Aerial Video Test

Always looking for helpful feedback. This is my custom 800mm setup includes FPV, Hero GoPro3 Black at 1920x1080 60fps set to narrow FOV. It is installed on a brushless gimbal system w/o remote pitch control (hope to add that later). So far I am impressed with the jello free results even though...

    Quad with Variable Pitch props

Another possibility without gearing..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAopB_xKIH0 But how does one control yaw?

    Quad with Variable Pitch props

I think this guy is on to something!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1FqV36oEYE Would be nice though to get rid of the gear system and replace with one ESC to drive all motors at the same variable speed. Comments please!:apathy: Potential benefits? Inverted flight capability? Prop...

    Wookong M Single Waypoint Danger!

Thanks SRBell..... Once I have my system reconfigured c/w LK900 I will ask some specific questions. Right now I am focused on brushless gimbal with GoPro3 Black and FPV testing c/w POI etc. and determining the available flight time with my custom made system. BTW - I see you are in...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

Very creative and professional work.... In some of the ground video scenes the Multirotor fades to invisible while the remaining landscape remains...... How did you do that?

    Roll your own

Plus they did all the detailed R&D, engineering etc. and made allowance for a strong future migration path so you can easily upgrade the motors to some degree without requiring esc replacement etc. as well as increase the prop diameters slightly as well...... then you can buy motor arm extenders...

    Aerial Video Service Rate Sheet

Anyone here doing professional level aerial video work and willing to share some ideas on an appropriate AV rate sheet? No others yet, to my knowledge in this area providing same services....respond here or send PM.:apathy:

    The DJI rant thread

Ferdinand...... agreed there is a lot of aerodynamic drag caused by the foam but there could be other causes as well.

    Weird issues with 3.10

I think you might be on the right track but some of the arm extenders are a bit heavy..... mine are aluminum and definitely too heavy so I removed them.....then I went with the RCTimer RCT800 mm MR airframe etc. etc. But on the original F550 I upgraded the motors to NTM 35-30 11KV with Graupner...

T-motor CF props vs clones - a comparison

Excellent info here... BTW - I have worked quite a bit with carbon fiber making and finishing my own large 4" diameter tube for a different hobby ofcourse and have also manufactured carbon fiber 1/8 plate using a vacuum bagging system. The optimum ratio of carbon fiber to the epoxy binder is 60%...

Newb to the hobby and need advice! :D

Good comments Mickhael, Regarding solar panel..... a) if they need to point up towards the sun, they will prevent MR prop airflow from getting thru!!! b) Even if it were possible, it would function like a barn door when your MR flys, affecting the flight in crazy ways. BUT: A large solar panel...

    RC Timer S800 clone

I am not yet at the stage where I have on board an iOSD and video/data downlink and only the conventional servo type gimbal system so I rely on the RC Tx timer.... so a separate smaller battery to power the gimble servos remains a valid option I guess. And we all know that the PMU contains a...

    RC Timer S800 clone

IMHO - The WKM, AlexMos and related peripherals can all operate on one dedicated 3S or 4S battery. Voltage regulators are dead weight and consume about 15% energy to drop 6S voltage down. So the 6S outlet has no value to you here.... you have to wire around it.

    RC Timer S800 clone

IMHO - A dedicated battery for the WKM controller can be a very smart strategy for a heavy lifter......as there is always a risk of heavy current draw causing a controller brownout or reboot while flying! But since the IOSD and gimbal draw much less current, these could be connected to the WKM...
