    WKM v.5.20 experiences

I understand how you feel.... I felt the same way until I dug into the physics behind the development of PID loop control using IMUs for heavier than originally anticipated MR design parameters. Programmer's cannot always anticipate future possibilities as to where the MRs are evolving towards...

Question about ESC's for my F450 Build

I have been ordering many items directly from HobbyKing Hong Kong and receiving them within 3 weeks or less...and with very little shipping costs etc........no guarentees though.... sometimes customs get a bit backlogged.

Question about ESC's for my F450 Build

IMO http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27777__Turnigy_Multistar_45_Amp_Multi_rotor_Brushless_ESC_2_6S_OPTO_.html http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__27135__Turnigy_Multistar_ESC_Programming_Card.html There might be a 40A Turnigy Multistar ESC somewhere as well....

450/550 Flyers - Share your Landing Gear and Landing Gear/Gimbal setups

The 2 axis gimbal with landing gear is the X468 modified. The GoPro3 camera enclosure is a piece of plastic eaves trough drain pipe..... very quick and easy to make and very light but strong material and a nice fit for the GoPro. I found the original landing gear and gimbal system made from G10...

    Intelligent Orientation Control IOC Naza

Be careful with IOC especially if it gets close to you or passes over your head..... it can get very confusing or switch out of IOC within approx 10 meters/30 feet by design. Bring it back home when you pull back on the stick is a great feature in concept but make sure it is working before your...

How Does A Multirotor do Pure Yaw?

The helicopter main rotor/motor tries to rotate the helicopter body in the opposite direction..... that is why the heli needs a tail rotor..... or another main rotor stacked above or below the main rotor but spinning in the opposite direction..... However counter-rotating props one a...

Not able to fly after firmware update, Help!

I assume you followed the WKM Assistant instruction which requires a complete system reconfiguration following a firmware upgrade. Not sure if the magnetic calbration is also required.

What "C" rating on batts for multi rotor copters?

I think that would be 120 amps in a one hour period sinc you are multiplying mah x C rating..... Maximum instantaneous amps is the issue to keep an eye on as well since the motors need enough amps to keep up with the AUW torque requirements.

What "C" rating on batts for multi rotor copters?

I am still trying to determine that myself for my DJI F550 and RCT800 etc. I use eCalc for Multirotors and it will show you how the different C ratings affect flight weight and time etc. Obviously the higher "C" rating batteries are not only much more expensive but also weigh more and...

What determines front or nose on a hexa?

The NAZA has an arrow telling you which direction it needs to be pointed for direct forward flight. You can aim it between any two arms or align it with the arm of your choice. But then you have to open Naza Assistant and tell the Naza controller which four arm airframe configuration you are...

    WKM v.5.20 experiences

GPS position triangulation @ your MR GPS receiver is dependent upon GPS satellites transmitting their positions simultaneously but also relies upon all incoming GPS signals to arrive at your GPS receiver at the same speed which is most often the case. Unfortunately very active solar flare...

Launching S800/Zenmuse WKM from a moving boat???

Just thinking out loud here.... The WKM's IMU has approximatetly 9 DOF....3 of which are accelerometers. Waves introduces random accelerations/decelerations in all three dimensions!!!! seems like a challenge. But if the IMU also incorporates magnetometer(s) that would at least help determine...

How do I know what the camera sees?

See Kloner's posting #4 etc. re: devices and/or software for 3D virtual tours....(will look like google earth street view) Regarding seamless panoramas with a video camera mounted on the MR..... for 1 and 2 axis gimbal mounted video cameras, just rotate the MR 360 degrees without allowing any...

Extending Motor leads - Is it OK to Do ?????

High motor rpms require higher electrical frequencies...... some frequencies tend to reflect back from the motor into and/or thru your ESCs. This is called EMI or RFI (electromagnetic interference or radio frequency interference). ESCs with opto-isolation eliminate the risk of motor noise...

    Rig Upgrade?

The Blade MQX is what got me hooked on this hobby..... When going larger.... designing a frame is the easy part. A word of caution ....... While you don't need to be a member of MENSA, MultiRotor design is an exercise in multi-discipline engineering design, i.e., Mechanical, Electrical...
