Always break the same direction prop?

Clockwise rotating props tend to loosen the prop nut so that a cw prop striking an object tends to slip on the prop adapter. Counter-clockwise rotating props tend to tighten the prop nuts such that a ccw rotating prop has no opportunity to slip before breakage. Laws of Physics rule!!!

    Repairing T-Motors

Inside my motors the neodymium magnets are affixed to the bell using a blue epoxy..... And yes.... the only thing that prevents the bell and prop from flying off is that little circclip or bearing retainer ring...... plus a bit of magnetic force.

I am afraid to maiden my new S800 EVO

It's all dead simple once one understands the basic concepts. 1) Laws of physics require that the center or gravity belongs at the center of the MR hub (but only on the horizontal plane) otherwise you MR motors would not all be able to carry equivalent share of the MR weight which would create...

    GPS Hold

The following will provide you with basic insight and parameters to use for your flying site..... but keep in mind that in rare cases, specific geographical anomalies can offset these values. Also the angle of declination is not fixed and changes over time as the earth's liquid core shifts...

    Configuring ESCs for Multirotor

Interesting and thanks..... I guess there must be more options to configure with Simon K.... will have to explore those.....I had no idea ESCs could have so many features.

    Which is more stable?

Such a question leaves a lot of options to be considered..... IMHO.......... in general the larger MRs, when properly designed and configured tend to be more stable in windy conditions. The same seems to apply to RC Helis and RC fixed wing planes from what I have seen. 1) Keep in mind that...

    Extra long F550 arms.

With the appropriate due diligence in the design effort, you can build a larger MR suited to your needs for a lot less than buying a complete system such as the S800. But without the due diligence, one can end up with a workshop full of mismatched items too good to throw away and no way to sell...

    Extra long F550 arms.

To be totally frank..... upgrading a Multirotor to the extent you require so as to lift the extra payload and achieve a long flight time is a multi-discipline engineering and design task of significance...... But to make it a bit easier you will need to work it all through using eCalc for...

    Center of Gravity

NAZA Assistant can not circumvent the laws of physics...... you must first ensure that the center of gravity is at the center of the Multirotor Hub when looking at the Multirotor from the top down...... this is always step one.

    Center of Gravity

Is you center of gravity when viewing the MR straight down, at the center of the MR hub? Are x,y,z entries precise? Has your GPS been accurately adjusted to account for your flying site magnetic angle of declination from true north? Have you properly calibrated your digital compass away from all...

    X8 Thrust Vectoring

I am no expert but please permit me to share what I have found so far.... http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/AngleAdapter. I have no idea if this is really necessary for an X8 though. There is also a pdf available that seems to explain it all on the Freefly Forum about this entitled...

New ESC slides inside Carbon fiber booms

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__42551__Afro_Slim_20Amp_Multi_rotor_Motor_Speed_Controller_SimonK_Firmware_.html There could be some issues with heat dissipation as there is no free air flow but carbon fiber is also good for heat transfer..... Now if they would just make them in...

    Coaxial (x8) experts

From what I recall........Check out Freefly forums for your answers to this common issue on most longer motor arm MRs..... Mikrokopter resolved it by offering a shim kit but does not explain it at all. You need 3 degree shims for each motor (cw shimmed opposite to the ccw motors). In addition to...

    prop balancer

Thanks for sharing this valuable info that I am sure many will want asap....... I had to find an alternate supplier of the digital jewelry scale but succeeded.... BUT it is very important to select one with a weight resolution of 0.001 grams... (not the 0.01 gram resolution which is much more...

Is Naza-M V2 able to keep in the air Heave Lift Frames ?

Many others including myself, who have designed their own systems experience the same issues regardless of flight controller manufacturer/product selected. The motors must provide the torque needed to do the job and heavier MRs, especially those with longer motor arms need more torque. Without...

    GPS-Compass Adjustment Tool

This software tool may be of some interest for MR pilots needing to adjust their GPS-digital compass for True north relative to magnetic north for your flying location(s). The angle of declination also changes over time so a periodic check before flight is worth considering...

Problems after F550 heavy lift conversion

As the...

Problems after F550 heavy lift conversion

Not sure.... I'll let you do your homework on that one. But what I can say is that I am designing to use 8 Turnigy Multistar 420kv 22 pole motors in conjunction with 15 x 5.5 CF paddle props and 8 Turnigy Multistar 45 amp OPTO ESCs all powered with parallel 6S 5000 to 6000 mAH LiPos for an...
