This thread heading started out a a congratulation to Aerial Mob but is now locked in to the FAA mode issues.... for what it is worth! Hard to track back to these items under the wrong heading now.

Gongrats to Aerial MOB and Mr. Kloner......well done

Tripoli Rocketry Association (http://www.tripoli.org/Motors/FAARulesforRockets/tabid/181/Default.aspx) has had tremendous clout id dealing with Federal and State regulators. A few years back all HPR activities were nearly obliterated by BATF claiming that rocket propellant was classified as...

    Is this Lipo repairable?

Intermittent voltage output suggests an unreliable/intermittent wiring connection between series cells and in an area where one would not dare to use a soldering iron. If you could return it to the proper 3S configuration I would use it in a boat or road vehicle.... not for flight.

    Wobbly S1000

Perhaps some additional info from you might help to get more feedback.... e.g., are you using a WKM or and A2 or Naza? Can we assume that the C of G on the horizontal plane is at the MR hub dead center? And is it correct on the vertical plane? Some flyers get the +- sign wrong with the vertical...

    Kypom LiPo batteries

Anyone heard of these? I get the impression that these are the suppliers for DJI S800 and S1000 MRs according to a local DJI dealer. They also have one specifically intended for a DJI Phantom as well as MikroKopter! Their website does not yet show all of the sizes specific to DJI S800 and...

    Wobbly S1000

What are your Basic and Attitude gain settings? These defaults for the S800 should get you in the right ballpark. Also you might need to tweak these a bit with your iPad Assistant program or your RC Xmitter LD or RD knobs (assuming they are set up to do that). If the landing gear is any...

    Should I Build Another

If you are depending upon online purchasing and shipping c/w significant waiting before parts arrive, it might be good to start buying parts earlier then later as the flying season can often end before you are ready to fly again after a crash.

    Controlled crash ?

Yes, Benjamin is correct. It is also good to practice this situation buy implementing full yaw then activate Home lock. BTW - Would RTH achieve the same results when a motor fails?

Aeronavics / Droidworx Inexpensive center plates?

You can also make your own using 1/32 inch thick aircraft grade plywood sandwiched between two layers of carbon fiber fabric or fiberglass. The outer layers are impregnated with West Systems epoxy the compressed. This makes for a super rigid center plate material that will never warp and is...

Which is Better: Open Source or Proprietary Drone Software?

Here is what I was able to glean from talking to top management at 2 of the following companies: ING Engineering in Ottawa ChaosChopper in Swift Current DraganFlyer - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (seems to have had proprietary systems from the start) Both have moved away from proprietary FC...

How do you power FC/Rx w/ Opto ESCs?

DJI Flight computers, including NAZA, all come with a PMU which is a Power Management Unit. It splits the incoming large battery supply into the various voltages required by the onboard DJI components and RC Rx etc. It is very efficient, light weight and compact. If you do not have the PMU and...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Whereas the GPS was an optional upgrade for some time now on the NAZA and WKM, it seems that it should always be included with the A2. And as such the reason for the external canbus port coming from the IMU could be eliminated such that the GPS is hard wired directly in to the IMU. That would...

DJI S1000 Review (Photos & Videos)

Please elaborate further. Looks like you are carrying a heavy load. What is you MR - AUW? 25.3 looks like a potential battery overcharge..... not good IMHO!

    Naza and S-Bus Question.

Not sure.... not familiar with the Taranis and out of touch now with Naza.... using the DJI A2 now. Anyone else out that that can answer this question?
  17. gtranquilla

    Naza and S-Bus Question.

To get the widest possible options for the Futaba T8FG Super, you need a 14 channel s.bus receiver and the new DJI A2 FC has a 14 channel receiver already built in to it but mapping all the channels can still be a challenge. You can still map channels 10, 11 and 12 thru from Tx to Rx output...

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Page 6 in newest version 1.16! called hot melt.... see image here. I missed it the first 3 times I read the documentation but noticed that the Canbus connectors seems quite loose. :highly_amused:

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

to all.... don't forget to affix the canbus connectors into the FC using a hot glue gun as explained in the DJI A2 documentation. Otherwise you might find GPS is not as reliable etc.:dread:

A2 FC Firmware 2.3 - Here We ALL go Again

Test flight 4: Here is my DJI A2 flying on my Cinestar 8 (long arms)........ very stable and excellent control of altitude as well. All is well so far but I am still flying with some fear and trepidation in view of all the negative reports I am seeing here on MRF!!! I typically get GPS lock on...
