Gains for flying my F450 in manual mode?

Leave the gains as they are and use dual rates and exponential to tame down the reactions- DJI controllers are all that bit more twitchy in manual mode. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How are altitude limits sensed by the DJI Naza hardware?

Actually barometric altimeters tend to be far more accurate than GPS especially over a short time frame such as the flight times we deal with when flying MRs. The way the MR deals with your elevation is through hight not altitude i.e. it is relevant to its take off point. As a result, the air...

    Zero UAV GEMINI Dual-Redundancy Autopilot

My Gemini flipped at 40ft totalling my copter. On sending my logs into Zero they just claim that my voltage was too low at 21.3v Given that with that setup I have always flown to 21.1v (22.1v when not under load) and used just under 80% of battery capacity, I am calling BS on Zero UAVs...

Aeronavics / Droidworx skyjib 8 with A2.. Need Manual mode flying tips..!

In my opinion you should never fly in manual mode unless it is an emergency. The chances of zigging when you should be zagging due to orientation loss is too great and in manual mode, a loss of orientation is the quickest way to loose control and crash. I see loss of orientation causing all...

    What's your voltage drop?

I get about 1v drop on my Skyjib with batteries that are approaching 2 years old with a lot of use.

    What's your voltage drop?

Good tool and thanks for that, but I was also just wondering what people's real life experiences were too.

    What's your voltage drop?

Im just curious to see what people are experiencing with voltage drop on a flying aircraft- so what is your aircraft weight, number of motors, battery cell count age of batteries etc and what sort of voltage drop are you getting ie at rest lets say 22.2 volts but in the air 21.2 ie a 1v drop...

***** ZeroUAV High One ON sale from OCT 1 - Nov 1 - AWESOME DEAL ON A GREAT RIG *****

Im an experienced builder so everything was very well calibrated, tuned, you name it and as soon as I put a WKM on it flew perfectly. With the Gemini on, not even close. John at ZeroUAV was not very helpful but marks to him for even replying unlike DJI!

***** ZeroUAV High One ON sale from OCT 1 - Nov 1 - AWESOME DEAL ON A GREAT RIG *****

I have found my Gemini impossible to tune for my heavy lifter. It doesn't help that the instructions for tuning it are poor and I would be the first to admit that the fault lies more with me through a lack of understanding of the best way to tune it. I tried for ages messing with the pitch roll...

Can the DJI A2 Rx connect with the Hitec Aurora 9?

In a word no. Sorry about that but receivers and transmitters tend to be very proprietaryu. DJI is the exception as they have embraced the Futaba family thus why their own RXs work with Futaba. You don't have to use Futaba though as if you buy the DJI SBUS adapter you can then plug your Aurora...

    DJI S900/GH4 First Timer

Im with Quinton on this. I think you will learn the S900 easily enough. It's certainly good advice to de-risk the first few flights by using a dummy weight. Im not sure who will be doing the intro but if they are worth anything they will have you flying it with a sensible amount of confidence in...

    Help needed with motor calculations.

If you are flying an extremely expensive camera then can I suggest that you avoid using a quad as there is no redundancy in the drive train. Go for a hexa as a minimum.

Aeronavics / Droidworx Red Flyer Advice

Personally I would avoid the Ronin. Not because it isn't a good gimbal, it clearly is a great gimbal but because of its weight. With the recent drop in Movi prices get an M10. 1.5kg v about 4 for the Ronin I think. However, if budget is going to be tight then the Ronin I am guessing will still...

    Is the drone war lost?

I spent ages trying to avoid using drone but people always remained quizickle until I said 'you know, a ... drone' and the response I always got was 'cooool, how high, how far, how much and how fast' I then realised that the only people who seem to think that 'drone' is a bad word is those of us...

    KDE XF esc's

I think all other MR manufacturers should take a leaf out of KDE's book in terms of customer engagement. Just read about the shaft issues on the Freefly sight and was very impressed with how KDE dealt with it. Ive also just fitted some 5215s with the 55A ESCs and so far they have knocked the U7s...

    A2 Regret

You are getting a pmu error because the PMU needs normal power. If the A2 is plugged in to its normal supply and then link up the A2 to a computer you get no more PMU errors,

Esprit Model Announces Jeti DS-16 Carbon!

By using the 'Logical Switches' function on the Jetis you could use 2x three way switches to give you 9 filght modes if that would do the trick?

Esprit Model Announces Jeti DS-16 Carbon!

fltundra clearly has something against Jeti TXs given his somewhat rude post in another thread. Ignore him. I have been using a Jeti now since the DS-16 came out. I wouldn't even consider a Futaba or Spektrum over it. I havent tried other radios so cant comment on Taranis, Graupner, Multiplex...
