I've looked at them, though not too seriously. Maybe for my second build =)

Building an octo to carry a 5ds R. Point me in the right direction please

I've discovered the gryphon dynamics frames, they are a little cheaper than the Cinestar and break down readily, but perhaps have too many connections etc. they are $999 right now which is a big discount, but then about $800 more for retractable landing gear. The Cinestar is $1900 with landing...

Building an octo to carry a 5ds R. Point me in the right direction please

Can you suggest a good website to compare their frames? The online stuff I saw was tough to shop so I ruled them out

Building an octo to carry a 5ds R. Point me in the right direction please

Violet, am I calling it something incorrect? I believe you frequent the thread on rcgroups here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2275017&page=45&highlight=violet#post31567819 The A series are nice cameras, I've wondered if it would be worth building a smaller drone and getting...

Building an octo to carry a 5ds R. Point me in the right direction please

I believe I have it narrowed down to the Tarot X8. Think the carrying capacity is good enough? Any reason not to? Thanks!

Building an octo to carry a 5ds R. Point me in the right direction please

Aloha, I'm learning to fly now on an f450 frame I just built and expect it to take months before I'm comfortable enough to fly larger but want to start learning about the various brands and components. I want to build it myself over time and was leaning towards a dji s1000 with the 5d3 gimbal...

Radio selection for AP, single operator use

Any other brands that can make the transition from single to double simply like that? It's something I'll likely do a lot. Thanks!

Where to buy power wire and accessories online

Aloha, Starting the old f450 group build for my first MR. Can you tell me where you guys buy the basic supplies like power wire etc? What gauges should I pick up, 8, 10, 12 for batteries, making charger cables etc (planning on a large build down the road and doing a couple cars too so common...

Radio selection for AP, single operator use

That does sound like a pretty ideal setup. I don't know anything about Taranis, but aren't they tricky to set up? I guess I shouldn't be afraid of that as long as it it's only one period of pain and then it works properly.

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

I definitely don't trust an f550 for this...DJI seems to point mirrorless cameras like the Sony a7 series to the s900 series and SLR users to the S1000.

Radio selection for AP, single operator use

Aloha, Headed down the road to fly my 5DS R. Questions. Any single operators here? Could you share your setups with me? Trying to find my way. Anyone using two radios themselves? I am strictly a photographer. No video so I'm anticipating flying out, hovering in place and then shooting...

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

I technically won't be working commercially (there's lots of back and forth on that subject right now here in Hawaii due to a bunch of permitting things), won't worry too much about that.

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

What does everyone think about the Spektrum DX9? It looks kind of hokey and sounds like it may be a polarizing subject, but the voice alerts seem handy and it seems to be feature rich and easier to understand (versus the Futaba 14sg). I do plan on being the only operator, so will down the road...

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

Ok, So I think I'm going to with an f450 build. The group build thread here seems like a great way for me to get my feet wet. I'll piece that together, but I would like to go ahead and purchase the radio and battery charger that will be useable down the road with the bigger drone. So...

Hoping for some help, new flyer, pro photographer building a uav for a DSLR

Thanks guys! The inspire and other cameras won't print at the size/resolution I require, so I'm not worried about shooting with the trainer or making any in between steps in that regard. I'll look into the brands and other options mentioned tomorrow and come back.
