Hi to everyone from North Georgia

Welcome Ross from North Florida!!! Welcome to FPV :)

    Extra long F550 arms.

When is someone going to make some out of aluminum? If someone wants to manufacture something like this, make them out of aluminum and watch them fly off the shelf. The longer these plastic pieces get the worse the wobbles will get as they twist and bend pretty easily. Aluminum...it's what's...

    Given up with Naza

Personally I love the NAZA despite it's very minor faults. There are such things as faulty units however so take that into account. If you want to go to another controller consider the CC3D controller and check out the Openpilot website for details. Again, I love my Naza and would fly with...

Lipo fire Always charge outside lesson learned.

Hey, big thanks for posting the pictures and taking the time to do this write up. I always monitor my batteries and I never charge them unattended HOWEVER, I do charge them in the house and right under all of my other electronics which of course is foolish considering I have an engineering based...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

What are you disappointed about? It looks great to me, high quality, no obstructions...do you just not like wide angle? The fish bowl look gets worse the wider you go. Try 1080p@ medium.

Pilot reports mystery black ‘drone’ at JFK

This is the kind of junk that will get us all banned!!! This is beyond upsetting!!! This is the kind of nonsense that will get us all kicked out of FPV and grounded. WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!! :upset...

Motor Swapout Data...very good info and very interesting...

If I were you I'd go with either the 750Kv or the 800Kv. I've found it's better to go with lower numbers than to risk numbers too high. With the 750kv I can lift crazy weight and the motors are ice cold no matter how I fly and my flight times are 12-15 minutes with them and were 8-10 minutes...

Flying at very high altitude - anyone managed 5,895 m (19,341 ft) ASL???!!??

I was thinking about it last night and it's going to be hard to get to 10,000 feet I'm thinking because by the time you get there you'll be out of fuel. I hope we get to see a video of you trying it though, even making it! :) Post it up son!

Motor Swapout Data...very good info and very interesting...

Man, I WISH I could find data on these props from a wind tunel complete with CAD designs and all that but I think The Chinese are more interested in selling them to us then sharing their design specs. I use the APC props which are very rigid and tapered at the end. The cord is thick but thins...

    Responding to PM's

You were "FORCED" to watch it? You mean, you don't like Top Gun? Man, that's one of the all time movies out there. Not my favorite, which you've never heard of, but also stars Tom Cruise called, "Legend". I bet there are some FELLOW nerds on here right now that'll go look it up and thank me...

New Legislation enacted in MO yesterday

And my AR-15 as well :) I agree, big brother needs to back it up and think before they make some new draconian laws that make otherwise law abiding citizens into a new criminal class much like the drug war does. Whew, hit some talking points there didn't I, glad this is a multirotor forum well...

New Legislation enacted in MO yesterday

Honestly, I'd like to start a whole new thread and see how many people would fly anyway even if it were illegal. I am one of those who would fly regardless of the law however I'd still respect military compounds and currently restricted areas and areas where signs are posted. I will not however...

    is it done for.?

The ESCs almost always pop in that case. Replace the motor and the damaged ESCs, don't tempt the fates.

First Video Flight - Something Went Wrong

You can hear in the video where an odd sound comes into play and you can see the shaking on the multicopter on the right engine. It sounds as if something is grossly out of balance and you can see it's on the right hand side or that front right motor itself. Make sure your props are balanced, I...

Flying at very high altitude - anyone managed 5,895 m (19,341 ft) ASL???!!??

There are a few videos of people flying their Hexacopters (Octos also) above 10,000 feet. I'd go on YouTube and ask them how they do it and what pitch blades they use and so on. Obviously the air will be very thin up there and I can feel the difference in my multi at just 1,000 feet up so it'll...

Motor Swapout Data...very good info and very interesting...

First of all, thanks for your help and I truly appreciate it. I won't use extenders because it will no longer fit in my travel case if I do and I'd have to remove them and that's a huge pain. I swapped back to the 750Kv motors and they are a dream to fly compared to the old ones. It's...
