    Multirotor construction kit?

A short time ago, I was a relative newcomer and decided to put together a "kit" to build a hexa. I used the FC from my first multicopter, A DJI F450. I cannibalized the quad using the Naza FC and the four ESCs to start the kit. Another $1000 later and the hexa was done. The new 'copter...

    Motor/esc combos

I've been very pleased with the Avroto 2814-11S & DJI 30A ESCs used on my Naza-controlled hexa. For me, the DJI ESCs are a no-brainer for use on a DJI-controlled system. They-re made to work with the FC and require no programming or cutting of the red wire. Jack

    An Unconventional GoPro Mount

In an attempt to eliminate viewing the landing gear feet and the forward engine mount from videos taken from my GoPro mounted to my gimbal, I came up with the following. I attached an aluminum tube (same material as the frame arms) to the x468 Landing Gear and mounted the GoPro to the end of it...

DJI Combined Stick Movement Arming Sequence

The CSC starts the motors, which, of course, assumes the ESCs are armed. I'm running an older version of the Assistant (w/o GPS & no throttle speed adjustment) and when I execute the CSC, the motors start and run at idle for 3 seconds. I haven't timed the duration of the CSC, but as soon as...

    F450, 1.6 Assistand and DX8 YT Video

If you're a noob and learned how to program your Naza based on that video, good for you. To me (I'm not a noob), it's totally useless. He explains nothing about why you'd change any of the settings, just that you can. Jack

Have we come too far too fast?

You're right. The operative words, however, are "direct feedback." Not whining on internet forums. Jack

Have we come too far too fast?

It really gets old reading posts from folks who get frustrated because no one has created a tool to enable them to do what they want. It's always someone else's fault that what the user wants has not satisfactorily been created for them. This is not unique to multis, it's prevalent with all...

    portable monitor

I'm using a Pyle PLHR77 from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0034G3XIS/ref=pe_175190_21431760_M2C_SC_dp_1)---cost $56. The resolution is 1440 X 234, which isn't great, but it works fine for framing shots. Not sure about FPV, though. I did build a foam shroud for it to reduce glare. Jack

    servos on x468 gimbal

FWIW. I recently tried a pair of Hitec HS-65HB servos in my x468 Medium Camera Mount and was not happy with the performance---a fair amount of "twitching" and not very smooth motion. I was also using a small point & shoot camera (Canon A620). I switched to a pair of Futaba S3102 servos...

    Locals arrested for flying drones

Doesn't sound like he was arrested, as the thread title suggests; simply cited. But it's bozos like Hendrick that draw attention to the subject and make it bad for others. Checkout http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=y9LlXc1Otfk (11:08 into the film) to understand the need...

    F450 NAZA FPV Rig

Sweet vid. I assume you're using the Haier monitor for FPV? Does it work well for you? I'm just getting to FPV and think I'd find goggles somewhat unnerving. Jack

    What do you do?

I'm a retired Air Force pilot & computer systems manager who does landscape photography as a hobby & part-time business. I started doing aerial photography from an R/C plane about 6 years ago. Four years ago I lost the sight in my right eye due to a freak accident. With no depth perception...

    Best Servo Gimbal for NAZA.

Are you looking for a video of the mount in operation or from the camera on board? Here's a link to a short, pretty dull video using a Nikon V1: https://vimeo.com/43139797. Disclaimer...it was a little breezy, I'm not the smoothest on the sticks yet, and I need to set the camera in manual...

    Waterproof Quads now available

How do you keep higher pressure in the "nearly waterproof container"? Wouldn't higher pressure in the container cause the barometer to misread the altitude? Are the motors waterproof? How is your quad amphibious (i.e., Amphibious means able to use either land or water)? Thanks. Jack

    F450 NAZA FPV Rig

Very nicely done. One of the smoothest GoPro vids I seen from an F450. Loved the flyby. I assume that's you looking into a box shading the video monitor??? Jack
